When the Kings moved to the 2 spot in the lottery I was pretty pumped. I knew it meant Ayton or Doncic and both fill a position of need. I thought there was a 40/60 shot at the Suns taking Doncic which made me even more excited. They could finally draft a future Superstar.

But if the Suns take Ayton, even though their coach coached Doncic that raises some red flags for me. You could say Ayton is too good of a prospect to pass on, but imo if the talent level is close you go with the player you know and have a relationship with.

There are reports the Kings aren’t high on Luka either, but several of the teams directly behind them in the draft are. The Kings seem to be the wild card in all of this and as a Kings fan that makes me very uncomfortable. I see the percentages of failing sky-rocketing.

I guess what I’m saying is I felt better when there was no decision for the Kings to make. You take whomever the Suns don’t. And now that the top tier is just Ayton in so many people’s eyes and the 2nd tier is trending toward 2-5 that’s waaaay too many options for them to choose from.

I hear the Clips want to move up for Doncic, I also know the Hawks have said Sac is the wild card so I wonder if they would move up 1 spot in the draft a la the Chicago Bears (Trubisky) to get their guy. Would the Kings take 3 and 19? I can’t imagine even the Kings would take just 12 and 13 from LAC for the 2nd pick.

Could they use the 2nd pick as part of a package to bring in some upcoming but somewhat proven talent?

Would love to hear your thoughts on what the Kings may be able to get for the 2nd pick that would fit their needs.

The Kings should work out whoever it is they want in advance, something it doesnt seem like theyve done in at least 10 years, probably even since they drafted Peja…! They have been disorganised and have drafted like they are panicked. With number 2, they have virtually the pick of the board, so they cant stuff it up.

They work out prospects, settle on a guy and draft him. Thats all they have to do. Theres only one guy they cant have – whoever Phoenix wants. It cant be that hard. They need help in every position.

If they want to get cute about it, they can anticipate where the guy they want will get drafted and try and squeeze an asset out of someone, but considering their track record, they should just draft the best guy on the board. If they get it wrong, everyone involved has to get fired this time. Simple as that.

I think theyll find Ayton gone but Bagley, Doncic and Bamba will all be very good players.

Nuggets and Grizzlies wanna get rid of Faried and Parsons, respectively.

     Nuggets receive 32 and 37

Grizzlies receive 14, Buddy Hield, and WCS.

Kings receive 4, Faried, and Parsons. They draft Luka at 2 and Bamba/Porter/Bagley at 4.

Did you not see how ecstatic they were to leapfrog everyone to land that spot?! I believe they feel as if they really hit the jackpot with the BPA candidates awaiting to hear their name called. Sacramento will get it right this go-around.

I think they should keep it and add another young talent to pair with Fox, Hield and Bogdanovic – I think they should go with Marvin Bagley as he fits what they need in a big man prospect.

Marvin Bagley III and Willie Cauley-Stein motors are insane.

Giles is much more intriguing than wcs, should be big part of the future, I would trade WCS!

I hope the Kings draft Bagley, just becuase I will see the Kings play more. But I think he will have a better career, especially early, if Memphis drafts him. T

Short answer is no! I know Danny pulled a fast one last year with Tatum, but that crap will backfire more than it works.

Given that team Bagley seems perfect. I wouldn’t even mind Porter if you have zero worries, but that is risky.

The Kings were delighted to get 2nd pick and if we assume that Ayton goes first, they have full pick of the rest. They will have a good look at all the guys but I think Bagley is BPA there despite being a big Doncic fan, Bamba’s defensive potential and JJJ’s upside.

The Kings with Fox, Bagley and WCS could be very exciting to watch going forward.

I agree with you. His motor on offense is amazing and the Kings really need a go to offensive player, but someone who isn’t completely ball dominant. He gets a number of offensive rebounds and put backs, as well as points off of assists. I’m hoping that will elevate the rest of their games and get the most out of their potential.

I’d add Bogdan and Giles to that short list you made.

     Bamba.

They could use a big man who can protect the rim well.
