Lotto StudParticipantWord is out that he will only workout for Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, and New York.
Thoughts?

OhCanada-ParticipantTo me this shows that he is trying to work himself in to that 6-9 range and those teams are interested. I feel like Young could be the guy to slip in this draft.

HitsterParticipantHas he heard that the Cavs have no interest in him, I wonder. Plus top few teams probably have PG in situ.
If he started to fall I could see a few teams trading up to try and get him. If Clippers could use one of their picks and an asset, it could be a good move.
Chicago could be an interesting fit for him as although they have Dunn and LaVine they still have guard minutes to fill and LaVine can slip across to SF. That would be a fun smallball line up to watch.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantChicago is a Trae Young away from being good. Trae and Zach in the BC is special

r377ParticipantIve always thought Orlando would be the no1 spot for him.
bit surprised that atlanta would look at him at 3 unless they are trading down.
I thought the Bulls were set on Dunn as PG or the future ? Knicks have 2 PG although neither are the outside shooter that Trae Young is. A Frank N and Young backcourt could work for the Knicks
I would be surprised if he fell further than 6. Orlando aren’t going anywhere, they could take a chance of Young. I still think he will be a good pro

RUDEBOY-ParticipantAtlanta has Schroeder, but the idea of going Top 3 seems appealing. Lebron gave him high praise during the season. I think he’ll be gone by the Knicks select. Orlando said they’re looking for a guy that could become face of franchise. Memphis is high on him and could select him if Bagley & Doncic r gone. And they can’t get Porter’s records.Heard from a close source that Grizzlies aren’t that impress with JJJ.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantAtlanta are hitting rebuild and Dennis S wants out so that makes some sense to why he might go there.
Orlando-They need a PG that can help space the floor as Elfrid P proved that a pg that can’t shoot consistenly won’t work with that roster.
Knicks-They are kind of stuck with Trey burke,Mudiay and Frank N which is kind of weird one unless they have told him they are moving on from 2 of the guards(looking to trade them) As that is one crowded back court…
Bulls that makes me believe you would play Trey at the Sg(on offense) and Pg(on defense) with dunn playing Pg on offense and Sg on defense.. This move would sort of signal Zach Lavines time in Chicago possibly being over…But if they say Dunn is their PG this is kind of a head scratching choice for him..
A random team that he should maybe consider would be Dallas-As a 6th man if he wanted another work out..But I could honestly see him going anywhere from 3-14..

whiteflashParticipantHave no idea how he’s doing during team workouts, but saw a vid of an individual workout that was pretty damn impressive. He’s one of the few players that I can’t honestly get a feel for how he projects as a pro.

nick5354ParticipantI think I just watched the video you are talking about. Dam that was impressive, in front of so many nba execs. He was draining 3 after 3 after 3. His shot looked amazing. No wonder he is narrowing down teams after he shot the lights out like he did.

whiteflashParticipantYeah, he killed it.

HitsterParticipantGoing 3rd would be a reach for Trae but if Schroeder does want out then he’d be best replacement or maybe with his shooting they would use him off ball in today’s NBA. If the Hawks like Trae and think they could get a trade down and still take him then that would be a nice deal for him. Teams will be high on Doncic, Bamba, JJJ etc so even if Ayton and Bagley go 1 and 2 there would be a load of interest to get up to 3.
Personally I like Trae at the Magic, he could be that star player they are looking for.
Cavs as said above, he’d not get so much playing time but if LBJ stays he’s on a legit contender and has K-Love, Korver, Hill etc there to learn from as well as King James.
The Knicks would be a perfect fit for him too and he could become a superstar at MSG.

HobbyOGParticipantDoesn’t matter he still might get drafted by some where else. Dion Waiters never worked out for the Cavs, went top 5. Justin Winslow didn’t workout for the Heat they took him, and I’m sure the list goes on..

Lotto StudParticipantThis was a topic of discussion for me a day or so ago. Thank you for the Waiters mention.

piratejpParticipantThey draft someone almost every year who refused to work out for them. Fox was the exception.

Memphis MadnessParticipantHawks need to go with an "upside guy" at 3: Trae, Bamba, Porter… maybe Doncic.
Draft somebody you can give the keys to and the ball to. They need somebody to be the face of their franchise.
They need a SUPERSTAR.
Oh, same with Memphis. And Sacto. And pretty much every other small market franchise.

PureshooterParticipantI’m not too high on Young. I know he’ll have a few games where he puts up big numbers, but he could be another Jimmer in the sense that he is unable to be productive without being ball dominant and a volume shooter.
