Wiggins Trade?

A few weeks ago there were some talk of Townes wanted out. I haven’t heard anything recently Wiggins trade rumors. But he was mentioned as part of the Butler trade.Thibs wanted to send Wiggins to Chicago for Butler. Becuz he thought Lavine was a better fit long term. But The owner stopped it. 

 Saw one about Wiggins to the Raptors for Demar, doubt it happens though..

 Wiggins has a big new deal so moving him prior to when his new contract kicks in would make sense. DeRozan for Wiggins and putting Wiggins back in Canada would make sense but it is a fairly neutral move but it would need Wiggins to kick on as DeRozan is an established All Star.

Thibs might feel that DeRozan would be a good fit and having him at SG would allow Butler to move to SF.

I like him and still believe in he can develop into a good player but Wiggins is nowhere near the player Derozan is. Longterm if he develops his game extremely well he may become that good or better but to be honest I just dont know if that happens because he already got a max contract. Rarely do you see players make those kind of improvements after getting paid $140 Million. He may have folded in the playoffs but lets not forget Derozan was 2nd team all nba, an allstar and the first option of the best team in the East  and has led this team to being competitive for half a decade. Gotta get more for Demar if you trade him Wiggins Canadian passport shouldnt mke it a deal.

 Wiggins would be taken on upside or the thought he’ll be a better player than DeRozan in a couple of years. But whilst DeRozan didn’t make All Star game until he was in his 5th season and Wiggins may be slightly ahead of him statswise when they both came off their rookie deals. DeRozan is clearly the better player now and even his contract isn’t as high as Wiggins’ new one would be.

So I agree with Oh Canada that T-Wolves would need to add something to the trade like Justin Patton and/or a future first or take one contract if Raps want to shift some salary cap.

 He is going to be hard to trade.  He is owed $30 mill for next five seasons.

All he can really do is score and not much else. Even his scoring is unefficient.

I was thinking of Harrison Barnes trade, but Barnes is better and cheaper.

The Kings are getting smarter, maybe only Orlando might be dumb enough to trade for him. I don’t think the Knicks or Nets would want him. NOt sure about the Lakers after they miss out on their Lebron and Pual George offseason fantasies

Me personally I am not so high on Wiggins as he is kind of Meh…As it seems like is wasting some of his talents..But he did play alright in the playoffs so he does have that going for him which actually surprised me.

As for the Trade market for him…What you could give and get it is kind of a hard one to fully pick. Do you get a need and Build around Towns and Butler or Do you try get best available Talent and go from there? These 5 trades could work maybe would be these:

P.G for Wiggins(sign and trade) 

Wiggins for the Number 1 pick(wiggins seems like talent Gm mentioned in interview) and T.J warren(But this is the sort of move Thibs may not make unless there was someone that blew  him away and could contribute like Taytum straight away)

Khris middleton and Jabari for Wiggins and something else.

Porzingas the injury may hurt his longterm future due to being a big and tempt the knicks to move on

 and the obvious

Demar and Wiggins straight trade..

If you go for need I am sure you could get something but overall talent may be lower or much of the same so its kind of why ruin chemistry.

I would probably give him one more year with Thibs,Butler and Towns and see what you can do?

I would like Thibs to use some of his Joakim sets for Towns(When Noah was defensive P.O.Y and they ran offense through him) and have Butler and Wiggins cutting off that + some plays for Butler and Wiggins…Then have Teague do some of the things he is doing to round out you offense.
