I saw something the other day but the Lakers ultimately needing to renounce everybody they can and then do 1 of 2 things:
Either let Julius Randle walk or move Luol Deng which would require him being packaged with Kuzma or Ingram.

I think the obvious answer would be let Randle go, but think there is any chance that they do the Deng move?

Let Randle walk, draft gelo, sign Lebron and cousins.

    Ball

    Ingram

    Lebron

    Kuzma

    Cousins

With gelo in that 6th man fill it up role.

That’s a championship squad and a warriors beater right there.

Can you sign both without dumping salary?

As above they need to let everyone go who is a free agent and if they want to keep Randle they need to move Deng to allow that $60mil+ of cap room.

I feel like the Lakers will end up with Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins.

Can’t see LeBron coming West for a team other than Houston.

    C. Cousins PF. Kuzma SF. George SG. Ingram PG. Ball is a heck of a starting 5 to build with.

Lakers should cal Raptors and ask for Derozan for Ingram and a first.

    Lakers should sign Paul George.

Sign a front court player or trade for one.

    Ball

    Derozan

    PG

    Kuzma

Whilst I like the idea of Derozan and PG on same team, that is terrible 3 point shooting back-court (Derozan 28%, Ball 30%) not sure they would fit to well.

No thanks. I’d much rather have Ingram’s potential (and much smaller salary) than derozan, who is already likely at his peak and hasn’t proven to be a guy whose style of play translates to playoff success, not to mention the future first round pick. Only way lakers would remotely consider that deal is if Toronto would agree to take dengs salary back, which I doubt they would.

I think Ingram is basically off limits unless it can net them a bona fide superstar in return. I’m talking about someone like lebron or kawhi. The lakers still view him as one of the long-term cornerstones of their franchise regardless of who they sign in free agency.

However, if a team were intrigued enough with kuzma to take dengs salary off their hands, I’m sure they would listen. You saw what they did with Russell last summer.

The Lakers can stretch Deng’s salary over the next 5 seasons if they waive him that puts it at about $7.45 million a year. That gives them an extra $10 million cap space potentially.

I agree that PG13 and DMC are their likely successful targets as regards any of the guys they go after.

They will make pitches to LBJ and KD I guess but I just don’t see them going there.

LBJ would want to be on a relevant team and if he is thinking legacy then going to a team who hasn’t won in a very long time would make more sense than being one of many great Lakers.

A total wildcard FA I could see them possibly looking at is DeAndre Jordan if DMC went elsewhere. Jordan is a proven top big and a good defensive anchor is a big part of any successful team. Plus he’d not need to uproot to play on his new team so it could appeal to both sides.

Remember just a few short years ago when lakers fans were convinced that a young core of Randle, the Snitch, Upshaw, and clarkeson, would allow them to attract the best free agents.  I am guessing they overpay for free agents and in a couple of years i will be making a rebuild 3.0 post.
