So all over the place is the debate over who is GOAT.  My All Time Team would be:

    C- Kareem Abdul Jabbar
    PF- Tim Duncan
    SF- Lebron James
    SG- Michael Jordan
    PG- Magic Johnson

In terms of GOAT it is between Jordan and Kareem for me with Jordan having the slight edge.  Lebron is well on his way, but he needs a few more MVPs and Titles to be on their level.

I saw Every playoff game Bird, Jordan, Magic, Lebron, Kobe, Dr J, Isiah Thomas Ever played

(I leave Centers out but for me Shaq in his prime was the GOAT of Bigs (I never saw Russell or Wilt so I could be wrong but Shaq was SO Dominant in the modern game)

Anyway, Bird, Magic & Jordan are all Razor close – Magic 9 Finals in 12 seasons & Bird Destroyed the NBA & won Titles as soon as they got in the NBA & just Dominated – it took Jordan a Long time to learn how to trust his teammates & he never won anything until he did

The 6-0 in the Finals is not the end all be all to me b/c I saw Jordan get Destroyed by Bird & Isaiah’s teams year after year – these guys were ALL drafted within 5 years of each other (79 – 84) but if you listen to espn you’d think Jordan was Drafted in 1990

For me Lebron will be the GOAT when it’s all said & done – the modern NBA is SO crazy talented & Stars could not Join Up & make Super Teams in Jordan’s era – he Never once played a historically great team in the Finals – but he Did play historically great Boston & Detroit teams & they Beat his ass

And I Luv Jordan – Idolized him but Facts is Facts homies & after just 3 Finals in a row Jordan was completely broken mentally & physically & in Jordan;s own words he said he returned b/c Expansion (89 – 95) dilluted the NBA so bad he knew he could grab a few more Chips but he returned in 1995 Shaq & Penny beat his ass – then he got Rodman – to go w/ Pippen (TWO Hall Of Fame Stars) & won 3 more

Lebron is Not Human – he’s the Terminator Robot – he’s Only 33 – at this Exact same age starting the season at 32 & turning 33 durng the year Jordan had just gotten Rodman on the Bulls & was trying to get Back to the Fnals – his Fourth – at the same age Lebron will be going to his 9th Finals

I Always put Magic ahead of Michael – b/c If Magic does not get HIV I believe Magic wins 7 or 8 Rings – he was flat out the Best basketball player I personally Ever saw – until Lebron

Lebron will be 34 next season & if he’s going to more Finals & he’ll win more Rings – B/c his career is not over I can only compare them at the same age & 9 Finals to 4 Finals is just over whelming in James’ favor – but if he doesn;t win ANY more Rings I’ll prob go back to Magic or Jordan

and honestly a fresh perspective from someone that actually watched the greats play in their prime! See it’s easy for us to say Jordan was better or the reverse because most of us never really saw him play and if we did our level of  understanding was not equal to what it is now. Context is key so even with me remembering Jordan dominating without context I can’t really quantify how great a feat it was. On ther other hand, LeBron beating golden state is quantifiable for me because I understand how great they were and that they won 73 games etc etc sO for me I don’t Have enough Jordan context to truly compare them. Because just going back and looking at other teams records doesn’t compare to actually truly watching that entire era of b-ball!

It’s not hard to go back and watch Jordan era Chicago Bulls games.  It wouldn’t take long for people to appreciate Jordan’s greatness and how unflappable he was in the biggest games and the biggest moments.

    PG: Magic
    SG: Jordan
    SF: LeBron
PF: Bird (Look at his career rebounding numbers and tell me he wasn’t a modern stretch 4)
C: David Robinson (People forget how good he was at his best. Unfortunately a late start to his career and a serious back injury at 31 cut his peak short)

     Backcourt seems easy:

    Magic

    MJ

    King

Front court gets tricky, but I will go

    Duncan

    Jabbar
