My question is not if you want him to go or not because you want to see the young guys develope. They have cap space and yeah PG is a great defender and would theorically fit better but he has been inconsistent to say the least in OKC maybe due to Westbrook but whatever.I would never choose pg over Lebron. Now I hope philly gets to the finals because this would give them finals experience under their belt before Lebron arrives. They would have to let JJ go probanly trade Jerryd Bayless and clear a little more apace but it is doable and for Lebron’s career it is the best move. He is not what he was defensively but Embiid and Simmons are one of the best duos on that end..

Besides if they dont sign a big free agent IMO the Celtics if healthy next year will be better than them..

I think the Rockets would have to gut the roster too much to get James and the Lakers might just wait till 2019 free agency.

Final thought is Lebron would have to learn to play off the ball, post more because Simmons needs the ball in his hands because he has no shot whatsoever right now.

    Thoughts?

During his press conference last night after the game 6 lost, Lebron look So Defeated & Depressed! Even after past Loses in the Finals. He appeared more upbeat. But last night he seem distant & confused. But I say Lebron has to take most of the blame. Encouraging the Cavs to resign JR & TT and both guys were overpaid. At the trade deadline they couldn’t give them away. And he played apart in Kyrie wanting to leave. Who really what Lebron might do. After seeing the way he looked at the press conference last night. I Doubt if even he knows right now!

Honestly I hope Lebron stays away from Philadelphia. The 76ers are developing nicely and I’d rather they win on their own instead of having to change who they are for Lebron. At this point the only place I want to see Lebron is staying in Cleveland. Lebron leaving teams as they get worse is a bad look for him. I have to imagine Lebron keeps all that in mind after the backlash he got from the decision.

Not only that, but if James goes to Philly he’d take the ball out of Simmons hands. Seems like a terrible idea to me.

James is obviously one of the best players of all time, but everyone’s time at the top comes and goes. He’s had a great run, but it’s time to move over and let the youngin’s have their day.

Also agree that if he were to leave and team up with ANOTHER "Super Team" he’d never live it down.

its own story, I don’t thin it’s a good idea for them to sign Lebron, who has the exact same role as Ben Simmons. They need to use the cap space to sign someone who fits the roster and be a long term player for the Sixers.

I’m not a philly fan but signing Lebron is never a bad idea. Honest question would he sign i think Embiid needs one more healthy year for him to consider it.

Put Lebron with Ben Simmons and it would be the easiest basketball of LeBron’s life.

As a Sixers fan I would much rather LBJ went to the Lakers thus giving the Sixers a slight chance to sigh PG13. LeBron is the better player but George is younger and the better fit. LeBron would require the whole team to change to git him while George would slot right in.

I knew most of you would be against it, but I honestly think it will happen and I don’t see why he would stay with Cleveland, this roster is awful, he’s given them a championship anyway. I think he attracts too much money at the end of the day and Philly will end up signing him, for the better or worst, and like I said, at the moment, the Celtics are probably going to be better than them if healthy for the next 1-2 years IMO.. And you have to consider that Golden State will probably be waiting for them in the next few years in the Finals so.. Why not go all in, finish the process and win championships, because it’s really what it’s all about, and what this process is ultimately for. Who knows how long Embiid will stay healthy. I’d roll the dice if I were them.

Philly may make a pitch to LBJ but I think they set the perameters of what he should expect and if it means he plays off the ball so be it.

I don’t see him going to the Lakers unless they land another top 10 NBA level player to work with him and he’d still have Ball issues if LaVar starts mouthing off.

If lebron legitimately wants to go there would the sixers honestly be able to resist signing him. It makes sense on a lot of levels even if purely from a basketball perspective the fit with Simmons would not be ideal. Anytime you have a chance to sign the best player in the world, you kind of have to move on it. You worry about the fit later. You have to wonder how committed lebron would be to staying their long-term and how much influence he would want to have over front office decisions. They have such a good thing going right now and bringing lebron in would change everything.

I still think the sixers should target George as their first priority. Although not as talented as lebron, he’s younger and fits their timeline more. He would not disrupt the current pecking order the way lebron would and would be more comfortable in a supporting role. Simmons and embiid would not need to change their games to mesh with George. But he is still a guy that can take over games when necessary. If you add George to what philly currently has in place, your looking at a potential dynasty imo.

If Lebron wants to join the 76ers then I’m fairly confident the 76ers will gladly take him. Lebron is simply that great, I doubt any team would say no if Lebron wants to play for them.

I think there are a few smaller markets that could make very interesting cases basketball wise for LeBron to join – Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, San Antonio, Utah. If its not Philly, i dont know where he is going right now. Nowhere else makes much sense. I think Boston will try hard though.

I actually doubt Boston would want Lebron. They seem dedicated to creating long term success and bringing in Lebron, unless he takes a massive paycut, would force the Celtics to discard the long term plan  and a lot of players for a chance at a ring or two. Plus adding Lebron would likely mean subtracting Kyrie who doesn’t want to play with Lebron.

To be honest Lebron is now entering the twilight of his career and probably only has 2-3 more reasonable high level seasons left him before the drop will be really noticable or Injuries will happen more regularly.

So whatever team he wants to go to will need to be veteran built and ready to win now. Well unless he wants to become a mentor towards the end that is.

Teams I see being on his list:

Lakers-If he believes that they can get one more piece with him and that he will let Ball be Ball.As Ball will need the ball to be effective and can’t do full time catch and shoot just yet.

Houston-If he wants to form Team Banna boat…I could see Melo forcing a trade to there(e.g for Melo sort of move)

Phoenix-A wild card they have youth, assets and Booker this would allow Lebron to play GM as they have a full cupboard, him to play Point forward and have a catch and shoot guard that would allow him to be successful.

The really big wildcards-If OKC somehow swing for the fences they convince: Melo,P.G to take big time discounts and some how convince lebron to do the same. As apparently Lebron likes Westbrook and wants to play with him at some point…This isn’t very likely but stranger things have happened.
