Realistically we dont need the Create Your Mock feature to actually make a mock draft. Lets see everyones mocks/big boards. Everyones spent so much talking about Simmons, Mitchell and Fultz this year that I’ve got no clue what people think about this years class.

When I got down to number 8, I saw Bagley. I had to double check the news to see if he broke his face in half, was convicted of human trafficking, or joined ISIS.

Number 8? Do you know something I don’t?

I’m not buying him.. and I know some draft junkies (Stepien) don’t like him either. Sure, he’s very athletic, but his skills are not up there. Very questionable shooter (62% at the foul line, less than two 3PA per game although he did hit them with decent accuracy toward the end of the year tbf), suspect defender both inside and out, no right hand, 2.3 TOs to only 1.5 assists. Reminds me a lot of Julius Randle, short arms, bit of a tweener. He was just bigger than most of his opposition this year, doesn’t even have a great box out technique, gets by with sheer athleticism.

Of course, he had a terrific freshman season and just turned 19. He has a lot of room to grow and is an elite prospect. It’s just that I don’t know if I would select him top 5, not in this class. Maybe with a year of seasoning he would have gone no. 1 in 2019, which figures to be a weak class, but you can’t come back if you’re a top 10 pick IMO.

        What’s your opinion?

I was tempted to put Shai ahead of Young and Sexton as well but held back. I think teams will covet his length and athletisism similar to Ntilikina going ahead of Smith Jr.

are underrated and teams’ needs may result in more big men chosen in the first round like Konate, Wiley or even Penava…

You got only two inside players between the 16th and 27th pick, I don’t think the draft will go that way.

Concerning the players you picked, Carr is very interesting but has a very poor FG % from inside the 3pt line, Musa is a leow average three point shooter who doesn’t contribute much in other aspects of the game. Bonga is very raw with only 6pts per game and 8 3pt made over the season, and o that impressive on D (1st and 0.5blk in 23min).

I agree with that. I didnt make a mock draft on team needs though. This is just a big board with my top prospects that I think will enter.

    1. Luka Doncic- as close to can’t miss as we have seen in some time, the best player in Europe at 19 years old. If you’ve ever wondered what LeBron would look like with 70% of the athlecism, this may be it.

    2. DeAndre Ayton- impeccable talent, awful defensive instincts. Defense matters most at the 5, and Ayton may never anchor a successful defense. Offensively clearly a stud.

    3. Jaren Jackson Jr.- best ‘two-way’ player in the draft. He will defend the rim, switch on the pick and roll, stretch the floor, and dive on the pick and roll. He fits with any team, and that team will win. Izzo screwed up the rotations this year, his NBA coach won’t.

    4. Trae Young- could be the Harold Miner to Curry’s MJ, but is more likely the Vince Carter. NBA defenses won’t be able to key in on him like college defenses could, though I doubt he becomes a good finisher at the rim.

    5. Michael Porter Jr.- will fill out and become and ideal floor spacing, playmaking four who will likely max out as an average defender.

    6. Marvin Bagley Jr.- Bagley will put up numbers, but it’s hard to see it translating to winning unless paired with a JJJ-like defender. If he’s a 4, he clogs your spacing, if he’s a 5 it’s a layup line on the other side of the floor.

    7. Wendell Carter- should be able to hit corner 3s in the pros and protect the ring with his solid wingspan, looks like a rich man’s Jusuf Nurkic.

    8. Mikal Bridges- He will defend 2-4 and make 3s. I doubt he makes plays with the ball in his hands, but he won’t need to. Perfect third banana, Otto Porter/RoCo type.

    9. Mo Bamba- incredible measurables, but high bust potential. Wants to shoot from the perimeter but probably shouldn’t, may not be able to put on weight, may not love basketball. He has talent, but it may not matter.

    10. Zhaire Smith- world class athlete who plays within himself. He is the prospect everyone thought Hami Diallo would be.

    11. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander- strong measurables and bball IQ, could be Penny Hardaway-lite if he develops, could also be MCW or Shaun Livingston, he needs to play with the ball in his hands.

    12. Miles Bridges- he will fit in to modern offenses, but who does he defend? Lacks the lateral quickness to guard 3s and the verticality to guard 4s. If the league gets smaller, it may not matter.

    13. Collin Sexton- will be an excellent 6th man, but lacks the vision to create more for others and does not defend well despite adequate athleticism and size.

    14. Kevin Knox- good size and shooting ability for a 4, lacks skill and creativity to be a primary on-ball weapon and will need to improve his rebounding and defense to stay on the court.

    15. Jontay Porter- the younger Porter has a little bit of that Jokic magic, passes, shoots, and rebounds well for a big. His value will exceed box-score stats.

    16. Robert Williams- should excel as a pick and roll dive man and rim protector. Can also make easy pass, high floor.

    17. Mitchell Robinson- strong measurables, could be a Clint Capela type, enrollment issues are a red flag.

    18. Anfernee Simons- lack of on ball guard depth boosts Simons’ stock, much will hinge on his shot development.

    19. Lonnie Walker- looked good at the end of the year but was an unremarkable defender and disappointed offensively on the ball.

    20. Dzanan Musa- can score but cannot defend 3s or 4s credibly.

    21. Troy Brown- FT% is encouraging for future shot development, possesses a high floor with his versatility.

    22. Aaron Holiday- capable 3rd guard in the DJ Augustin mold.

    23. Keita Baites-Diop- could be instant contributor is shot development is real.

    24. Josh Okogie- very underrated, scores at all three levels and can create his own offense.

    25. Khyrie Thomas- has the measurables of good defender, if not the results. Currently seems a bit overrated.

    26. Jevon Carter- will pair well with a primary ball handler at the wing. Will be a top 10 defender of point guards the day he steps on the court.

    27. Jacob Evans- another decent 3 and D prospect.

    28. Shake Milton- excellent measurables make up for lack of burst, should be a good shooter.

    29. Rawle Alkins- has some juice on the ball but needs to improve his defense.

    30. Brandon McCoy- looks like another coming of Enes Kanter, value is in the eye of the beholder.
