dmo21ParticipantLooks like a lot of teams took chances later in the first on young guys. That did not pan out. It’s not like there was slim pickings, 10 guys taken in the early to mid second round are still in the league.

ChrispyParticipantFab Melo is dead. I count that as a pretty serious inlury, if I do say so myself!! 🙂

holefillers1ParticipantTerrance Jones was another guy with promise that couldn’t stay healthy.
Speaking of Terrance’s, what the hell ever happened to Terrance Williams. I thought that guy way going to be a beast.

HitsterParticipantStrange when we think Hoston and Boston drafted White and Melo respectively given that Morey and Ainge are considered two of the best FO guys in the NBA.
There were a fair number of good players drafted in the 2nd round that year. Maybe a few teams should have looked at those guys instead!
There have been 5 guys who have reached All Star level from that draft, maybe one or two more have potential to do so.

Mr. JewboyParticipantRoyce White was really talented and had a good chance to be a really good player. There was a lot of talk about how much potential and how versatile he was. He just couldnt handle the flying and/or had other mental issues so he didnt even play, so he could have ended up being a very good pick if not

ChewyParticipantI was a huge believer in Meyers Leonard. He had all the physical tools and a good looking shot in college. Over the years I have become convinced he just has zero heart to be successful and is fine coasting on the bench.
Also, for Marquis Teague, I didn’t need hindsight. I knew that was a terrible pick 5 seconds after it was made.

Mr. JewboyParticipantYou have a good eye ! I actually remember thinking he had a chance to be a steal, because what I remember is he was considered a much better prospect at one point than his brother who was just starting to play pretty well, and in the end was picked with the second to last pick in the first round.
