BallerScriptParticipantI have heard so many different comparisons for this kid but can’t decide which one fits the best. I’ll list all the ones I’ve heard and I want to hear your reasoning for your comparisons.
- John Wall
- Rajon Rondo
- Gary Payton
- Chris Paul
- Jrue Holiday
- Mike Conley Jr
- Dennis Schroder
- Brandon Jennings
- Elfrid Payton
- Dejounte Murray

HitsterParticipantAt this moment I’d say Schroder and Conley perhaps, if he turned out to be as good as CP3 and The Glove then that would probably be his best case scenario.

properbreaksParticipantI’m rocking with the Wall comparison the most and then Rondo to a point. A lot of those comparisons I’ve never heard, I usually hear Wall which I agree with. He’s super speedy with the ball and pushes it like wall and he will rise up and dunk on you if he catches you sleeping. He’ll finish thru contact like Wall and he has really good passing skills even though we didn’t see it as much tournament time. He has the same issues as Wall too as far as having to improve his jumpshot, but he already has in his freshmen year.
Look at how he shot in his pull up J in the tournaments compared to how he shot during the regular season. He had a whole lot more arch and follow thru on his jumpers. He didn’t have a lot of range, but his pull up from 10 and 15 looked totally restructured to me.0- Posted on: Sun, 04/30/2017 - 12:21am #1096436

MopgrassParticipantI actually think his jumper looks promising now. It’s his finishing I’m concerned with. If he dunks it, great. If he doesn’t it feels like a crapshoot. He doesn’t have great touch around the rim. Wall has always used the backboard better. But he has so much upside: I’d consider him if I was picking first… but there’s 5 guys I’d consider 1st.

Dev44ParticipantI agree with the John comparison due to his just shot. I think they’ve both made huge strides on shooting but the speed, the ability to finish at the rim along with the athletic ability to me is very reminiscent of J wall. I also think Fox could be a star in the league especially if he knocking down that mid range shot early in his career

elliotmcadooParticipantFox is a guy who is a natural at passing the ball but he’s got more size than Ish and seems to be a better lock down defender then Ish ever was. He’s got the size of John Wall but sadly his jump shot at the same age. The kids got good form on his shot and if the free throw percentage is any indicator I truly believe he can work out that jumper and be at least a respectable 3pt shooter at the NBA level that’s the only thing that should determine whether he will be John Wall/Mike Conley or will he be Tony Wroten/Michael Carter Williams.

OhCanada-ParticipantIts hard to a comparison for him. The most obvious thing is his d3velopment is nowhere newr done. He is still very raw and has years of development ahead of him. Id say Wall, Schroeder, and Ish Smith are the players he the players he reminds me of the most. He is a straight line driver he doesnt go East/West very much and struggles in the half court.
He’s not necassarily a ballhandler he just goes so fast with the ball at times that certain moves are not possible to perform which leads to turnovers or sloppy play. He needs to develop a change of pace to his game and identify when to use his quickness and when to take it slow. This reminds me of a young John Wall.
His court vision is overrated. He does not come close to resembling Wall, Rondo, or Paul here. To me his court vision is more similar to a young Russell Westbrooks. He creates scoring opportunities for his teammates with his abillity to drive and create passing lanes by sucking in the defence although unlike a young Russ he more often than not makes the right pass in those situations. Russ also had a confidence to him that was shatterproof. You could not do or say anything to him that would make him hesitant. Fox is not that stubborn which will make him a different player and likely easier to play with.
Defensively he reminds me of all the best gaurds in the game. He has all the tools to be an effective defender on gaurds and wings and should find minutes no matter what due to his tenacity on this end.
His shot also reminds me of Walls which John has improve drastically. I wouldnt be surprised to see Fox improve his either.

wonzi_bellsParticipantHis frame, lack of explosiveness and lack of any midrange game is what turns me off about him the most. He’s going to have a hard time finishing with that. Guys like Schroeder and Reggie Jackson at least have the frame, center of gravity and crazy wingspan to help finish and the both have respectable jumper to keep the defense honest to a degree, at least in the regular season when opponents aren’t scheming against them. And Wall is a different animal when it comes to his size and athleticism, plus even he was a better shooter at this stage than Fox. With that, I don’t even have him in my lottery if he’s only going to turn out to be Elfrid Payton.

tblazer_NZParticipantThe Jennings comparison ends with their height, skinny frame and that they are Lefties.

Robb_CParticipantI see him having the same effect on games as Rondo, Hes a pretty intelligent ball player from what I watched.. Fox has a longer frame than Rondo bit similar builds, I like the Rajon Rondo comparisons..

HobbyOGParticipantI’m going poor man Wall or Rondo with a jumper. I think this kid is going to be a stud on the right team.
