Meditated StatesParticipantLook at his numbers with the Kings last year 11.9 pts, 11.7 ast,6reb,2steals a night. Not washed up players numbers. He is still the leagues best floor general and it showed in this series vs the celtics. The other players all play better when he dominates the basketball. Yet Butler and Wade and MOST OF ALL THE COACH learned this too little too late. Coach destroyed there seeding for the countless games he did not start Rondo and for not making Wade or Butler except it. Rajon Rondo is the best player on that team.
Based off of the Kings number when Rondo was there and they were one of the highest scoring teams that year, is he a starter?
Many said he was not but he was pretty good with kings last year, dumb coach who was not smarter than his player this year.
Should Rondo be a starter next year?

holefillers1ParticipantHe puts up good numvers when he is the 4th/5th option. Ask him to score on the regular and you are asking for it…get it?

ChewyParticipantI appreciate a good pun now and then.
Rondo is a starter. That’s obvious to me watching the Bulls this year. But his controlling ego maniac way of thinking is like a huge neon light above his head saying "Does not play well with others." He is so smart, but usually PGs control the offense, so getting players to trust you is harder when you’re an ass.
If we keep Wade and Butler another year, I hope we can keep Rondo too and give him control of the offense. Wade needs to stop being whiny premadonna. He even said himself he has a hard time scoring when running point in spot situations this playoff series.
Answer: Let Rondo run the offense and stick to shooting D Wade. Not rocket science.

OhCanada-ParticipantIts too bad he got hurt. We were about to see Playoffs Rajon Rondo, the original triple double machine. Bulls won both road games then he gets injured and they go 0-4. Every timeout Rondo was actively communicating with his teammates and you could tell he was the leader of this Bulls team not Butler or Wade.
If this year has proved anything to me its that Rondo deserves to be an egomaniac because he really is that good. Id lock this guy up to a longterm contract for pennies on the dollar immediately.

cohenbc1ParticipantHe’s an elite PG when healthy and committed to his team. But he’s rarely healthy, and will never live down what happened in Dallas. I think he needs to be on a contending team or he’s likely to have conflicts. If I were Bulls I wouldn’t bring him back unless they serioiusly upgrade the bench and the 4 position first. Otherwise I think .500 is pretty much their ceiling again …

Meditated StatesParticipantScore to dominated. Thats has been proven. HE IS A MONSTER IN THE PLAYOFFS.

HitsterParticipantRondo is under contract for the Bulls for next year so I assume he’ll be back unless they try to get a top PG via FA. They have Mirotic to renew so that will eat into cap space and D-Wade has that thumping $23.8 million player option to decide upon.

ditotayParticipantMove the Bulls could make is firing the Gar-Pax tandem so they can make the right moves to upgrade this roster.

IlladelphParticipantAhh… Rondo… I have watched Rondo play ball since his days at Kentucky. He really is an amazing point guard. He is still very quick, and has amazing court vision. Also, a surpisingly good rebounder. Sadly, his biggest obstacle has been himself. He reportedly has an abrasive personality, and is a me-first guy. After reading some interviews with Doc Rivers, I actually think that his decision to leave Boston for the Clips was in part due to the difficulty he had dealing with Rondo. So much talent, so little people skills. Dallas was a huuuuge train wreck, but it could have been a good situation for Rondo. Unfortunately Rondo just blew that up. Can Rondo have 1 or 2 more good seasons before he retires? Maybe. Perhaps if he puts his huge ego in a box, and becomes a team first player, he might be able to convinve his teammates to trust him and really become great. But I doubt it. I could see Rondo playing out his contract and in one year be out of the league. Too bad.

Meditated StatesParticipantLiked Rondo. Why? He is smarter than most coaches buddy, Rivers included. As a Celtics fan Doc cost us chips trying to prove he was smarter than Rondo, Carlisle too,Fred too. Smarter than all 3 coaches. RONDO MAKES OTHERS BETTER. He is liked by everyone on every team he played for except Ray Allen who was a traitor anyways. He was liked by Paul and KG more than they liked Ray=FACTS. Most skilled and hated on player in the L. He makes all you haters eat your words and you always go back to the media opinion on him. Not players opinion. He made that team a threat, plain and simple. BUTLER AND WADE could do very little easy without him as well as the rest of the team. HE IS A PROVEN WINNER. PROVEN.

IlladelphParticipantMeditated States – You are an uninformed, casual, "check out my Celtics jersey but I don’t know the game at all", kind of "fan". You say that Doc Rivers "cost us chips"??? He won your shitty team the only championship they’ve had since the golden Larry Bird era. I mean Rick fucking Carlisle played on the last Celtic championship team. The Celtics were doormats until Doc Rivers coached them to a championship in 2008, over 20 years since the Celtics were even relevant. But you, the great Meditated States, blame Doc Rivers for not winning championships??? Put down the joint, and come back down to earth. And as far as Ray Allen goes… a traitor??? Unbelievable. Ray Allen is a big reason that the 2008 Celtics won that championship. How many championships did the Celtics win after Ray Allen left? Don’t remember? I’ll answer that for you… ZERO.
Look I am definitely not a Rajon Rondo "hater". I am on record as saying that he is an amazing point guard. His inability though to get along with his teammates and coaches has hampered his effectiveness. He may be smarter than Doc Rivers. He may be smarter than a lot of people. But that’s not the point. Doc Rivers is a coach, and a pretty good one. Rondo never respected him, and that ultimately contributed to Rivers leaving. And Rondo? Well, I guess Rondo can’t get along with any of those dumb coaches out there because he is just sooooo much smarter than they are. Where has that gotten him? He did get a chip with the Celts so that is pretty darn good. But my point has always been that he could have been so much better if it weren’t for his inability to sublimate his own oversized ego for the good of the team.

OhCanada-ParticipantI think its a no different mentality then what Kobe had, Draymond Green has, Lebron James has, KG had and other great players. They all expect thier teams to perform to the best of thier abillities and will demand excellence. Difference being Rondo doesnt get the same margin of error when it comes to his interpersonal skills and how he gets his message accross.
I think they didnt like him at Dallas because he spoke out of term and pushed Nowitzki too far. For Rivers to say he couldnt stand him is like a Frankenstein story, you created this monster now you cant control him? If he continues to improve his shooting and stay healthy I think he can regain his star status.

Meditated StatesParticipantWhy so upset lol. Stats say he is best 3 point shooter on their team percentage wise. Younger players learn from him. Bulls had WADE AND BUTLER and could not take a game without Rajon Rondo. He averaged 11.9 points, 11.7 assist, 6 reb and 2 steals last season. Any other player yall are giving him props, but no not Rondo. Media d![k rider illadelph. You prove you pu $$y by your reply. You prove your lack of knowledge too LOL, Thanks! EGO the best assist man in the league rather sees his teamates Do well and the team win then to be what you haters want him to be. SIXERS ARE TRASH HOMEBOY THEY GOING NOW WHERE WITH THESE LAST DRAFT PICS LOL. Stay angry and hating homie. You base your knowledge on media, I base mine off what teamates say. RONDO IS THAT DUDE. Great PG.
