Man can we get one postseason where the Clippers are healthy. It seems like every year they have had an issue with Paul and or Griffin. I feel bad for Paul his game is already so underappreciated and when he retires his lack of playoff success will tarnish his legacy.

Whats next for the Clippers and or thier superstars and what would you do inthie Clippers situation or if you were Paul, Griffin or Jordan?

If I’m Chris Paul, I’m getting out. Go to the Spurs, Bucks, somewhere where he has a better chance of winning now and/or in the future

Me too. He was my favorite player pre-OKC/John Wall but ever since he’s been in LA he’s turned into a mega diva. Maybe being in the Spurs culture would cleanse him of all the things Doc has done to him (plus they need a replacement for TP soon, Dejounte isn’t ready)

I’m not sure on Paul though.

What fit does Blake have on OKC? If I’m Blake and I haven’t been to the conference finals, I go to Boston who has a great young core with a winning culture and VERY high ceiling with all of their assets, and is a good fit for his rebounding and his ability to score in the paint and perimeter.

He no longer rebounds at a high clip.   His off the ball defense and lack of rim protection is going to hurt the Celtics.   I think it makes basketball sense for him to go to OKC since Taj is on his last year of his contract.  Here’s the kicker though.   Westbrook can be a free agent after next season.

Is Griffin no longer a good rebounder or is it just that he plays almost all his minutes next to the best (or one of) rebounder in the NBA?

I can see Boston making a major run at Blake and I think that if he moves on then CP3 is likely to also.

CP3 is 32 now so his Championship window is beginning to close, sure he could hop onto a contender at 36/37 years old but I think he’d like to try and win whilst at his peak. So I can see him looking at a smaller number of teams than Blake does.

Plus we have to consider how would any team they go to compare with them both remaining at the Clippers and trying to win from there. It would seem pointless to move on for less cash and have less chance of winning.

From looking at next season’s current projected team caps and their own FA situation, there are probably only about 10 teams to currently have cap room or could easily create required room to make a realistic offer to Blake or CP3. Several of these are in rebuild so lets discount them and it only leaves about 6 teams who you think could make a pitch to them. Other teams could well create cap space of course.

Apart from Boston, the only other teams I identified who have space and are in the play offs are Chicago and Indiana. Boston aren’t going to realistically make a run at CP3, Chicago could make a run at either and have Jimmy Butler tied down for next 3 years so could be worth watching. Pacers could also make a run at either but I’d think Blake and especially CP3 would want PG13 to commit longer term also.

Outside the play offs – the big market teams who have cap space or who could easily achieve it are Dallas, Lakers and Knicks and I’d have doubts about CP3 or Blake going to any of them.

If I am Blake I go to the Lakers if they draft Lonzo Ball who is a bigger, flashy, pass-first point guard.

He can have fun, do his thing, and be THE GUY.  He won’t even have to move.

With Blake on board a team with a young core of Ball, Ingram, Russell, Randle, and Zubac, the Lakers will be able to attract more high level free agents like Paul George.

When the Clippers break up and they become terrible, Balmer moves them back to Seattle

Clippers are staying together.  Steve Ballmer is too fond of his team and has an open checkbook.  Players wont move on so fast. They still remember how they kept Deandre from leaving.  Maybe a three team deal moving Blake Griffin for PG13 could happen.  Clippers though just need one more piece.

I agree, I think the Clippers missed their window, and this is the year that they have to blow it up. The writing is already on the wall for those willing to read the signs. Doc coming out and saying he hopes to keep the core together is the big one for me, as that shows uncertainty in your GM.

Reddick, Paul, Griffen are all free agents, and so is Mo Buckets, Felton, and LRMM. All of those guys played key roles for the clippers going foward. If you do bring back Blake, CP3, and JJ the Clipps will be in cap hell, and won’t even be better than the team they fielded this year. It’s time to just blow it up.

Realisticlly it all comes down to CP3, and how badly he wants to win. Personally I think he leaves, he’s too competative to waste away in LA, and I think he goes to a contender. I think the coach has a huge factor in where he goes, so the only realistic options I see after LA are the Spurs, and possibly the Heat. I think the Spurs make the most sense. They already have 2 all-star level talents on the roster in LA and Kawhii, Kawhii being a top 10 player in the world, have the best coach in league history (imo), and have desperately needed a pg for the last couple of years. He would fit right into the system, and would play the Tony Parker role better than Tony Parker himself lol To me, if the option is their, he has to go to the Spurs.

Blake on the other hand, is a completely different animal. I do believe that he is the #1 target for the Celtics this offseason, and I expect DA to go just as hard for Blake as he did with KD last offseason. He just makes too much sense for us. We’re a top 3 team in the East, and his scoring, passing, and REBOUNDING would sure up most of our weaknesses. Also, that #1 pick gives us the ability to potentially add another core piece.

But with that being said, I just don’t see Blake as a Boston guy, and think the real darkhorse would be Miami. They have a great coach, another big man with talent, a PG who will get him the ball, and enough cap space to sign another solid player. I think going from LA to Miami would also allow blake to continue promoting his brand, as well as give him an easier path in the playoffs.

I see Chris going there if he decides to leave LA.   There aren’t any stacked teams he could go to without a young star PG outside of the Spurs.
