If Bridges were to have been a part of the 2016 NBA Draft I think he could have definitely gone to Boston at the third pick. This really shows the top end strength in the 2017 draft and/or the lack of star power in the 2016 draft as Bridges in 2017 was ranked as a late lotto and possibly top 10 selection. Also I made my own 2018 mock and Bridges fits nicely in at 6th behind Porter Jr, Ayton, Bamba, Carter, Doncic and Duval so he probably did make the right decision and I wouldn’t be worried about him dropping far in 2018 because that draft class seems to fall off outside of the lottery at the moment.

    Why ?

Besides being a decent 3 point shooter and finishing a few nice alley oops, what else can Miles Bridges do well ?

I had him going at 14 for this year before he decided to come back.

As a draft prospect coming out of college, I would of taken Dunn and Jamal Murray before bridges

      Well let’s see….

He’d be the best athlete in the class by a mile at 6’7 230.

He guards 3-4 positions in college and projects to guard up to 3 in the NBA. (Something I’ve heard teams love about him).

He has a reliable 3 point shot and when teams close out he can put it on the floor and attack the rim with ferocity.

Averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks while playing out of position in college, most of the time being forced to match up with players that are much bigger than him.

He’s a team first player with a great work ethic and attitude, he truly wants to get better AND win.

This guy is a midrange jump shot and a tighter handle away from being a top 3 player in this years class let alone a weak 2016 class. I can tell there are lots of posters on this site that don’t really watch any games but they’ll look at his highlights and say "this guy can’t do anything but dunk…". That is incorrect, as he is close to being a truly complete player.  He does still need to develop but he has time now and there’s less pressure staying in school. I look for him to be a top 5 lock next year.

I really like that Miles Bridges decided to come back. There are at least a dozen players who declared for the draft that should of done the same thing.

Best athlete doesn’t just refer to who has the highest vert leap. Its about strength, speed, agility etc. Bridges has a 43″ vert, Malik Monk had a 42″ vert. He is not the most athletic “by a mile”. You could even debate if is he is more athletic then De’aaron Fox, Josh Jackson or Semi Ojeleye.

Even if he had a better mid range game he is still not top 3 over Jackson, Fultz, Ball, Fox or Tatum.

I never watch just highlights, that just leads to you drafting Jan Vesely. I watched 5 full mich st games including Bridges career high in points, just to see what all the kids on here were creaming their pants over… Like I said, a few nice dunks and a few 3 pointers.

Bridges over Tatum in a heartbeat.

Good for him going back, never root against a kid enjoying the college experience, good luck and all that.  I dont know about 5 but he could easily got to atleast 7. He has the attitude GMs like.
