Portland has a history of being a pretty creative franchise with how they manage their assets. Having three picks in the 15-23 range gives them a lot of options. I doubt they would end up drafting three players with intentions of adding them to the roster but with teams being provided three additional roster spots next year for G-League players some unpredictable things may happen. They also aren’t the most cap friendly team due to the Turner/Crabbe signings so they may look to try to shed some salary with these picks. I wouldnt be shocked if they tried to move up or partially move out.

If they kept the three picks Isaiah Hartenstein could be a potential draft and stash talent as could Radions Kurucs.

Roster wise their biggest needs would be to get a forward/center that can play on the court with and substitute Nurkic. Another advantage to drafting Hartenstein. I think TJ Leaf fits that mold and so does Rabb. Motley, Swanigan and Adebayo could also fit this bill.

They also need a wing/forward that can guard some of the bigger scoring wings like Leonard, Thompson, Barnes, Gay, Galinari and Wiggins. Aminu does a good job but hes not quick enough to guard a lot of those guys. OG Anunoby, Semi Ojeleye and Justin Jackson would be the best options there.

So draft and stash youve got Hartenstein at 15. Then at 19 I think Leaf would be gone so go for whoever you think the best is/whoever is still available out of Anunoby, Ojeyele, Jackson I would pick Ojeyele. Then at 23 get Rabb, or Motley Id go with Rabb but hed probally be gone so lets say Motley.

 I’d assume that they will be looking at frontcourters mainly although Nurkic and Leonard will probably cover vast majority of C minutes. So it may be more at PF given that Ed Davis will be in the last year of his deal.

One totally wildcard idea I had was – Brooklyn signed Allen Crabbe to an offer sheet last summer which Portland matched. Brooklyn’s main asset Brook Lopez is an FA in 2018 and their GM Sean Marks has said he’d like a couple of picks for any Lopez trade. So offer Crabbe and a couple of picks to see if Brooklyn bite. This would only work if Lopez could play PF or Nurkic did.

I would go BPA at 15 then look at any combination of Lydon, Motley, Swanigan, Bell with 19 and 23…also somebody like Semi Ojeleye would be intriguing with their roster and the ability to play him at the 4 with a small ball lineup in a Draymond type role. 

 The worst place to be in the league…just outside of the lottery. Sorry dame if anyone’s going down in 6 it’s the blazers 

15.Ty Jacob Leaf…a true basketballl player playing the 4 and only the 4, they don’t have any legit 4.

19. Giles, pure gamble…PF-C, maybe his 3rd year option is declined, maybe not.

23. Jawun Evans…a legit back up PG, 4 years for cheap, then trade bait before he has to be paid, costs control.

Maybe they could trade up with the heat to grab their man(PF) at 14th, 2 picks for 1, 1 rotation player and a pick, maybe add a 2nd rounder 2018 here or there.

 The picks could be 16, 20 and 30 if Cavs win it all again…

  15 – Leaf   19 – Kennard  23 – Adebayo (I think he slips)

  Nice backups, maybe eventual starters in Leaf and Kennard at Forward. 

  Somehow they are going to trade one or two of the picks unfortunately. 

   It’s a deep draft, I see at least 7 Point Guards being good pros (Top 5 plus Monte Morris and Frank Mason)

   Hope they keep the picks, rosters go to 17 next year I understand…

 I think they should roll the dise on pj dozier with one of those picks, if he pan out, he’s perfect match to be the third guard in a three guards rotation with the liliard and mccullom… He need to devolp his skills but his potential is huge, cause he’s physical spacemen as a guard with smoothness about him and defensive poweress…

 Also with the other two picks I will try to move up and grab the center from Texas, I think that is also a position need help cause the guy from Bosnia I think not complete or stable enough to take the load by imself and Leonard is not an nba player to me(what an overrpaid contract he got), so they need to move up to lottery and bring center talent…

#23 for Koufos and #34.  

 the blazers treated the nuggets like their Bi*ch..they stole nurkic & 1 st rounder..then they took their 8th seed….

 With the three picks, I just don’t see them bringing 3 rookies in – either they stash someone which is perfectly fair or use one to make a salary dump to help cap out.

Brooklyn would probably happily do a deal as Sean Marks needs picks to help rebuild

Or even thinking outside the box offer up one of this year’s picks to a team in exchange for a 2019 first rounder. A contender might see a player they fancy and want to move up or double draft this year.

Depends on who’s available, but I definitely think they’re in a great spot. They need an upgrade at PF and this draft is incredibly deep at the position. At 15, I think they go with either Leaf or Collins, both of whom I think have higher upside than Vonleh. Picks 20 and 23 are complete tossups to me, as we have no idea who might slip. I think they could stand to add another PF like Lydon or Swanigan for added depth and maybe some backcourt depth. I could see Edmond Summer fitting in well with the talent they have there. 

There’s also the possibility, as Hitster said, that they could package their picks for the future. I like that idea considering they’re not losing anyone to free agency and roster space could be hard to find for a rookie.

 Ideally: Zach Collins, Jordan Bell, Justin Jackson

More than likely, Justin Jackson isn’t there.

Then Bell or Motley (or both?), and one or two of these 3: Kennard, Grayson Allen, and Justin Jackson.

Then I try to get a 2nd rounder.

Roll the dice and go with Tacko Fall. You have his rights for a year even if he doesn’t sign right away (right?).

Although, I mostly want a Tacko-Bell shot blocking duo!

 Or, I think Portland should trade 18, 20, 26, and a future second round pick to the Kings for 10, 34, and cash.

The Kings need guards and wings. Then, maybe a third/fourth big. Get Best Perimeter Available with their pick at 8, and stock up on solid young talent with the 3 Blazers picks.  So, maybe Dennis Smith Jr at 8, or Jayson Tatum to be their small forward, then some combo of Kennard, Justin Jackson, Grayson Allen, Rabb, Leaf, Bell, Motley, and maybe even reaching for a steady point guard in Frank Mason, Jr.

IF they can get BOTH Tatum and Dennis Smith Jr. with the picks at 8 and 10 then they should do it. Or, obviously, if they can get either of those two along with Isaac/Fox.

If not, get ONE of those guys and TRADE DOWN.

Blazers do it to get Zach Collins at 10. Then they get some depth at 34 with either a guy who falls (Kennard, Grayson Allen, Justin Jackson, Bell, Motley, Giles, Swanigan), or wing depth in Nigel Hayes, Dillon Brooks, or Sindarious Caldwell.

 Third option which might be the BEST option: trade 18 to the Nets for 22, 27, and 57.

Then draft two wings and two bigs in the first round. Use the 57th pick on a Euro stash guy. Or, an Oregon guy you can put on your D League team.

The Blazers would ideally like to move some salary and perhaps need a big so could some deal be done with Philly for our favourite trade target Okafor in exchange for Allen Crabbe and one of the picks. Philly need a shooter and Crabbe would be a nice guy for them to use at SG either starter or 6th man. He’d help their play spread the floor and they have cap space to absorb his deal which expires when some 2nd contracts could kick in. Plus they get say 20th pick from Portland which they can do something with.

Portland get the Oak on a rookie deal so take around $12 million off their cap, he gives them frontcourt scoring and a post presence.
