Mr. 19134ParticipantWorld B. Free and others have indicated Simmons has grow 2 inches and now stands a shade under 7". This actually makes sense considering his foot injury and drawn out rehab why it didn’t go as expected because if his foot was growing while trying to heal well that’s certainly hard to put a timetable on.
Anyways since Ben is being groomed to play PG and certainly his skill set is best suited for that position, does his height take that away. At what point is somebody too tall to play PG? Considering Giannis success at it I doubt added height could be anything but a positive. Even KD at near 7 foot has shown the ability to handle spit PG work without a problem.
What if the Sixers were feeding players the same thing when they drafted AI and he grew a couple inches would he be the GOAT? JK. kinda.

EndlessknightParticipantSimmons was never going to good PGs so I don’t think it’s an issue. My bigger concern is can Simmons and Saric play together.
I think Simmons will be the main ball handler and initiate the offense but most likely guard 3s or 4s. The ideal situation would be for him guard 3s so he and Saric can play together.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThey are going to be deadly together. They’re not similar because they have specialized skill sets, they’re similar because of they’re extreme versatility. Saric in many ways is a pure PF whose both modern and a throwback at the same time. Simmons is a PG who will guard SFs in defense.
The closest forward tandem I can think of with similar skill sets is LeBron and Love because Love is a good passer who stretches the floor and bangs inside while LeBron is a freak do everything player.

Sewok15ParticipantSimmons are Saric are both unselfish players that offensively will be a joy to watch. Defensively they won’t be the greatest duo but Saric plays very hard on both ends if Simmons takes some notes from him he will be a monster.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf the Sixers get to keep the Lakers pick too then they should go after 2 guards. A pg with the top pick — either Fultz, Ball, or Fox then Malik Monk with the other pick.
Then you have a high-powered five man attack with PG, Monk, Simmons, Saric, and Simmons. A young, talented, versatile lineup.
Fox and Monk might make the most sense if they don’t get the top pick.

EspressoParticipantIn cbb he looked like a tall ass teenager, who hadn’t fully gown into his body.
I wouldn’t bet against him growing 2 inches

iguapops420ParticipantBrett brown says the rumor of Simmons growing to 6’11" is just that. An unsubstantiated rumor.
