SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI didn’t see this coming with the top recruit coming in. Good for UDub. That’s a big time job that going to attract some big names in coaching.

Sewok15ParticipantHe has done less with more talent than any coach I can remember. Great recruiting can only get you so far.

holefillers1ParticipantI’m assuming Porter Sr stays on??…hypocracy

Sewok15ParticipantDouble post….Porter likely stays due to location and assumed top pick status…

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantMichael Porter and Jontay Porter are commiting to Mizzou per sources. Cuonzo Martin just hired Michael Porter Sr to be the assistant coach. Michael Porter should be great at Mizzou and then be a top 2 pick

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantMichael Porter Jr never signed his NLI at UW. So he is out

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantNot sure if you guys are famililar with Immanuel Quickley, hes the top 2018 PG. He just told me personally that he is cutting Washington from his top 8 because Romar is out

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantSorry for the frequent post. Michael just tweeted he will not attend UW next year

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf I’m the AD at Washington I’m calling up Brandon Roy and offering him the job. I don’t care he only has one year of coaching experience of highschool varsity.

Sewok15ParticipantGood point keep the recruit and maybe get some basketball IQ that helps long term as will recruiting based on the name.

Hacker90ParticipantI love the idea of them hiring Roy as the new HC

OhCanada-ParticipantThats a really good idea. Im not sure if it would recommitt Porter even know Roy coached him this year but it would defenitely be something the fans could get behind plus hes done a great job coaching.
Im kind of proud of Washington for firing Romar. Dude has all kinds of pull and the uncertainty of a potential void period for UW had to be a scary thought. We will likely see Dickerson transfer and a few others potentially.

llperezso does anybody know porters top other schools?
0- Posted on: Wed, 03/15/2017 - 2:18pm #1094157

OhCanada-ParticipantMissouri is where he will likely land since they can give his father a position in the coaching staff. Oklaholma was also in the mix. There were talks about him and Gary Trent Jr. being a package deal early in thier recruitment as well but Coach K isnt going to give his father a job so that wont happen.

LazarusMunozParticipantGod please just let Tom Crean be next. I can’t take another year of him

holefillers1ParticipantWashington will go from not winning with top recruits to not winning period. Grass isn’t always greener especially when the top prospects remove you from their list. Winning cures all but they made it tough. Romar never won anything but he had an uptempo system that showcased talent for the next level. Tons of great young players coming out of Seattle, hope they keep a couple in town.
