    In most NBA forum circles, I believe that player A gets recognized as a top 15 player while player B is viewed as more of a top 40 player:

    • Player A: 21.7pts, 6.1rebs, 3.3assists, 1.4stls, 0.3blks, 43.6FG, 92%FT, 2.2threes
    • Player B: 22.3pts, 5.5rebs, 3.5assists, 1.0stls, 0.3blks, 46.8%FG, 86.5FT, 2.0threes

    Pretty damn similar. Now as all of us seasoned NBA fans know, box score stats like the ones above don’t quantify intangibles, defense, size, speed, age, mileage etc…….. but once you all EASILY identify who the mystery players above are, I think it’s clear why Boston didn’t give up the farm at the trade deadline, and will hapily take their chances in free agency this summer 😉

    Aren’t both players going to get the Max this off season anyway? I know you could say player B is underrated and getting better yet while A has plateaued but they are similar players who will get payed virtually the same.

     

     One was potentially available now to bolster the shot of contending this year and resigning him in the off season while they will both be available over the summer. The only real issue you bring up how maybe one player is undderrated while the other is overrated…

    23, 6 and 4 describes both Hayward AND Kemba Walker oddly enough – two guys who were at one point almost teammates in CHA

     Its all in the riddle. They didnt give up the farn for Paul George because the summers prize free agent is Gordon Hayward.
