festar35ParticipantSo there was a lot of rumors around Indiana and PG, personally I am glad we held on to him on the flip side rather annoyed we didn’t add any talent.
Surely a talent like Wilson Chandler or Brook Lopez could have been had for a reasonable price to at least give PG some hope that Indiana was hunting for talent, the fact nothing happened makes me think Indiana had an offer from LA and Boston, but wants to see if Lakers retain that 1st round draft pick then re-engage in the off-season as sounds like Boston wasn’t really offering any return in player talent, so he could be in a strong spot for bidding war between LA and Boston, also allows more time to see how guys like Brown, Ingram etc. develop. As said PG is committed to either the Pacers if they sort some competitive team or likely goes to the Lakers or Boston.
Indiana will need to move some salary like 2 of the 3 of Ellis, Stuckey and Miles then swing for the fences and go after Millsap or Griffin along with bring Teague back.
George, Turner, Teague and Griffin/Millsap could be a heck of a competitive unit, all though Indiana does not attract big name talents (which is why I think Millsap is more obtainable) Larry could sell this team as a very competitive unit to join and title contender.I think Indiana still has options, but Larry’s stubbornness is a BIG red flag and the thing that scares me the most if he doesn’t get help early in the off-season he needs to move PG.

OhCanada-ParticipantI don’t get it. Why would you trade Paul George. He’s proved he can win on all levels of men’s basketball. Dude came back from a gruesome injury twice as fast as expected 10 times better. I would do whatever I can to keep this guy around forever.

festar35ParticipantPaul George is my fave player and one of my top 3 favorite Pacers ever with Miller and Granger.
I don’t want to trade him, but Indiana needs more talent or he will leave he has literally said Indiana needs to stay competitive to keep him.
The problem is you don’t see big name free agents scrambling to join Indiana do you…..The reason you trade him is a chance to build through the draft which for small market franchises is still the best way to build a title contender. I wish there were guys dying to play in Indiana and we may be lucky this off-season, but you have to look at bigger picture.

Magic JordanParticipantPacers aren’t going to get the Lakers pick if they keep it. Lakers will just wait and sign PG out right. He won’t qualify for a super max so the money the Pacers can off him over LA, or any other team for that matter isn’t much.
If the Knicks taught teams anything. It’s just wait.

r377ParticipantThey picked up Al Jeff, Teague and Thad Young in the offseason. That was a pretty good score. Al Jeff contract is ok but Young and Teague are both excellent value.
The pacers don’t have any really stupid contracts and likely to make it into the second round of the playoffs. They are a lot better off than most teams in the league.
Chandler and Broken Lopez are both injury prone. They prob discussed lots of offers before deadline…..
