Jean_31ParticipantI was not hig on this kid. But lately he seems to have expanded his all-around game. For me him and jackson have made tremendous improvement in their game this year. I know that we have a deep draft. But can you see these two being picked top 5 in this draft? For me Jackson is obviously a lock. What about Tatum ?

Robb_CParticipantJayson Tatum is a very safe pick in this years draft, He has a very smooth approach towards the game.. I see Tatum in the 5-8 range in the draft

Robb_CParticipantI also believe Tatum had all the talent coming into Duke, IMO his surge in play is a result of him being more confident within the Offense.. I think his confidence will grow as he gets older which ultimately will dramatically improve his level of play at the next level.. I dont think he has an Alpha dog personality which hinders players becoming "the guy" at the next level.

OhCanada-ParticipantCompletely agree with Robb C. You may even have teams opt to pick him ahead of Isaac. He seems to have a very high ceiling offensively and his playmaking is starting to develop as well. Top 10 pick and great value 5-8.

Robb_CParticipantIsaac is def a PF at the next level, I really dont see any coach in the NBA giving away the shot blocking potential of Isaac to have him get mismatched on the perimeter.. He has good footwork but hes defintely more suited as a 4.. Kid has great tools and totally understand why Aran is High on him.. I think his offensive potential is a bit overhyped.. Im really watching him a lot more closely, I believe with Isaac if he can defend the PnR and switch onto 3s more consistently.. Hes worth a top 5 pick

holefillers1ParticipantAnd I’m in agreement with Robb on Isaac. For me, after reading different scouting reports and watching him play, Jonathan Isaac will enter the league as a 3 & D guy with some rim protection and some gaurd skills. From there his talent level will rise as his ball handling, especially in transition were he is below 50% while leading the break, improves. I believe he has a chance to go first overall.

OhCanada-ParticipantYep and that’s why Ingram is struggling. He doesnt have the ability to defend forwards at this stage. In the NCAA he was a huge mismatch shooting over players at SF and blowing by players at PF. Strength isn’t really the issue. At the NBA level the forwards have a height and athleticism advantage on him. They can bother him. That and the fact that he can’t even hit an open jumper.
To me Isaac is a Top 7 pick. 3 to 7 range. I’ve got Fultz, Ball who are ahead. Jackson and Smith are on the same level. Then there’s situations where Monk could also slide ahead of him. I do think that teams that need an offensive anchor could also look at Tatum and Markannen as well.

OhCanada-ParticipantFlorida St. always seems to find a way on my TV this year. I’ve watched alot of his games and his offensive potential is legit. He can do it all from a scoring perspective. If he was tk work on anything it would be his stance while dribbling which needs to get lower and his shot selection and understanding when to apply himself and which mismatches to attack. He kinda seems like a guy that has that green light mentality but inbetween him and that green light is his coach with a large STOP sign if you get what I mean. For better or for worse he hasn’t really displayed his full offensive game.
I can’t remember who it was against but there was one game he hit a three, a mid post range turnaround jumpshot and a put back dunk in the first two minutes of the game. I thought he was gonna drop 40 that night then he missed his next two shots and they stopped feeding him/he just lined up on the three point line for the rest of the game.
If he can get a team that’s devores to slowly developing him and letting him learn through his mistakes he could be a very good player.

Robb_CParticipantAs Far as Tatum is concerned, I see a lot of Gordon Hayward in his game.. Just needs more confidence but its there.

Bankroll PJParticipantI like this comparison a lot. And it’s always great to see some someone compared to another player outside their race or skin tone

OhCanada-ParticipantWhy is that great? I kind of feel like at times that type of thinking made me reach on comparisons. I don’t care if TJ Leaf looks alot like David Lee, he plays like him too. That’s a fact.

Robb_CParticipantTJ Leaf reminds me of Christian Laettner a lot actually

TarHeelRavenParticipantTatum is an insanely talented offensive player. He’s better than I thought he would be. He can put it on the deck, shoot it, rebound, pass, basically he can do anything on the court. He’s a top five pick in my opinion and should be a very good pro.

kobyzParticipantplays old school type game’ remind me steave smith…

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantTatum should go top 8 but he needs to work on his footwork and decision making. He travels allot because he does not know what to do sometimes. He is a slower Paul George

theballerwayParticipantstill not a fan but I can appreciate what he brings to the table. I find him underwhelming athletically. I didnt think he shjoot the college 3 thast well or that he could shaker his chucking habits and be a team player. While he still isnt that athletic from a jumping/explosiveness perspective he has looked great getting up and down the floor both with and without the ball he shown glimpses of all the other things I thought hhe was missing. Hes been not just moving the ball but finding the open man on occassion and has had some greatgames shooting the 3. Im not sure if he can guard 3s at the next level though and I dont think hell ever be a playmaker for others but he has his calling as a scorer be it starting or of the bench.
Not top 5 for me but 7/8 onwards Im good with based on team needs etc. Glenn Robinson liiiiiight. very light lol
