Bogdanovic to Wizards

I jsut cant see any of these moves really getting anyone closer to the Cavs in the East. 

 I really like this deal and not only because they got Bojan. They unloaded a useless Andrew Nicholson and Thornton and added McCullogh who I think has a lot of potential. I dont think its about catching the Cavs as much as its about getting home-court for the playoffs and then hoping someone, somehow, knocks the cavs out before you get to them lol. 

But i love the Wizards this year. I was so wrong about them coming into the season. Scotty has them playing beautiful OFFENSE, thats kinda why i was hoping they would add a defender on the wing or the block but this move definetly improves the roster without giving up much. 

Good trade for both teams.

Wizards get rid of their dead weight and add bench depth (especially behind Beal where depth is needed). Nets get a first round pick and guys who will find time in their rotation. 

Kind of surprised Brooklyn was able to finagle a 1st in this deal… nice job. I guess that’s the price for taking on Nicholson, who hasn’t been that good for Washington this year.

I like this trade for the Wizards too. Bojan should be a capable bench scorer on a good team, who can close games if his shot is on. 

I like it for Washington, helps them stay under the luxury tax threshold when they resign Otto.

 I actually liked McCullough and have always thought he had solid upside based on his tools and the production he showed at Syracuse before his injury, he’s just a long way from reaching it. He wasn’t able to crack Brooklyn’s rotation despite them being starved for young talent so I’m not sure if that’s a red flag or if they just wanted showcase Trevor Booker to see if they could sell high on him. McCullough could be a nice get for Washington if he develops at all. 

Washington doesn’t have much depth so he could get some time but then again they’re a very competetive team so they might be reluctant to hand him meaningful minutes if they can help it.

I’m curious to hear what people think of him.

 Ernie Grunfeld making another move to save his job. Just signed those 2 guys and now you trade your draft pick to clean up dead wieght. Not that he’s been great with picks anyway but still. And he still has to find a way to get rid of Ian Mahimi now since he’s on a huge deal and still trying to rehab knee surgery. Wizards really need to move on from him.

 That 2017 pick was pricey for the Nets. Bogs can play and is what the Wiz need for their playoff run. Bogs has been an efficient scorer for the Nets. And this year he is typically the second option on offense and often enough is the first option. Look at that efficiency and remember that he is the guy being guarded by Kwahi, Lebron, Butler, Paul George, etc. when the Nets play those teams.  57% TS% is pretty darn good when you draw the best defender nearly every night. 

CMC has potential. And the contracts Nets took back will save Wiz money and open up flexibility. 

Wizards are the clear winner.  They got Chris McCullough who can flat out Bojan

Bojan was an RFA this summer and would likely have wanted a hefty deal which a Nets looking to rebuild may not have wanted to offer him. The Nets need to get some assets in so getting a first rounder is useful. It at least gives Sean Marks a couple of picks in the 21-27 range which hopefully he can do something with.

I wonder if there will be any deadline day moves for Brook Lopez, he will be going into the last year of his deal this summer so his trade value will only decline as time goes on.

 Wizards get a reliable 3 pt shooter off the bench for the playoffs & they offload Nicols salary creating room to resign Porter Jr

And the Nets get another late 1st round pick to go w/ the Celtics pick. It is still going to Sting & Sting Badly as Boston drafts Fultz or Ball or Jackson but b/c the Draft is so deep perhaps a decent prospect will be pushed back intoo the 20’s. Either way the Nets will have 2 Rookies to sell to their fans & keep them somewhat occupied next year as they go thru one last season of the torture wrought by Billy King when he made
