    Jahlil Okafor & Nik Stauskas

    76ers Recieve:

    Reggie Jackson & Aaron Baynes

I’ve tried this on the trade machine and it works. Both teams benefit from the trade because Jahlil would fit SVG offense of one in and 4 out offense. And the pistons would finally have a GO TO SCORER in the paint (sorry Drummond), can stretch the offense, and could play a pf occasionally with drummond. The pistons seem to be better in a more up tempo style of play when (Ish Smith playing pg). Nik Stauskas is a home town product (UofM) and also gives them another shooter off the bench to stretch the floor with Jahlil. Finally, can push the pistons as they move towards the playoffs.

This works out for the 76ers because it finally gives them a PG, who knows how to create his own shot, and can play off ball…which is more important. Once Ben Simmons return it he will have a role similar to LeBron (Ball is in his hands most of the time, and creates for others) so for the most part Jackson will be playing off ball scorer, but can handle and create for others when called up upon.  Aaron Baynes give them sixers a nice, strong backup C to Embid, who can score and rebound, and shoot the mid range.

Not a good trade at all for the Pistons. How did Monroe and Drummond work out? Okafor brings the same skills as moose, but with less rebounding. Building around Drummond is better as he can play defence and work the pick and roll (on both O and D), which is what the NBA is about these days. Plus they have to give up their starting PG for Oak? Detroit would quickly start losing games after this trade (they didn’t play so good without Reggie in the start of the season).

You have to believe a lot in Stauskas from Detroit’s perspective.

I doubt the sixers would be interested in that trade, Reggie Jackson being the key piece and not a guy they should target given their current assets (good draft picks for this PG heavy draft, Ben Simmons as a PG on offense) and they might get sexier offers for Jah from team wanting to try and develop him as a starter.

You’re a Pistons fan and you propose this trade? This trade gives us duplication at the C/PF and wing positions – the two places we already have a lot of depth. Sure Okafor might have good low post offence but he’s the Harden of big men. Ok, that might be overly harsh but you get my point. As far as Stauskas, getting someone to Detroit just because they played college ball here is a big, big mistake. Mateen Cleaves anyone? Stauskas has finally shown he can shoot a bit this season, but would he realistically play ahead of Stanley? Or Reggie Bullock? Heck even Hilliard or Gbinjie at this point would probably play ahead of him.

As for Philly, why would they want to trade for a ball dominant lead guard when they’ve just drafted a ball dominant Point-forward in Simmons? Baynes as an expiring contract is the only thing that makes sense for both parties.

I would not want him if I were the sixers. The Pistons know he is not a winner and soon whoever employs him next will learn the same thing. Id rather get ex piston  Brandon Jennings better player lower salary cap.
