So this is starting to look like it is going to be a lot of fun come play-off time.

I think getting the 1 & 2 seed is even more important this year, not only because of home court but any of those 3-6 seeds could tip the other out. If the play-off started today it’d be….

#1 Cavs vs #8 Pistons – 8 seed is wide open and I think we see an below average team get in this spot.

#2 Celtics vs #7 Bulls – Much like the #8 seed it could be a sub par team, but I look at the Bucks with return of Middleton as a potentially scary prospect.

#3 Wizards vs #6 Pacers – 2 extremely hot teams right now that seem to be figuring out who they are, battle of the 2010 draft in Wall and George, this would be an ultra competitive series.

#4 Hawks vs #5 Raptors – Hawks really looking good and love the addition of Hardaway Jr. into the starting line-up he plays really well with Shroeder. Those 2 vs Lowry/Derozan would be fun to watch and it’d nice to see Howard return to the play-offs for a very competitive series.

If the Celtics fall into the 3-6 range again getting out of the first round would be very hard, Cavs are unlikley to drop but you never know.

You’re absolutely right, and that’s why I can’t wait for the trade deadline to get closer and closer. These teams are all equal from a talent perspective, and just a small move here or there is what could make the difference between a first round exit or fighting in the second round.

I think right now the Cavs, Celtics, and Raptors are the three clear best teams in the East, but I could see a team like Washington, Indy, and ATL making a move to improve their team.

I personally would like to see the Wiz go after another bench piece. They have arguably the 2nd best starting 5 in the East, but damn is that bench mediocre. If they could make a trade for someone like Lou Williams I think they would be a tough out in the second round.

I’d like to see the Pacers acquire Lou Williams too. Stuckey is always hurt, Brooks is inconsistent & Monta is *AWFUL*. I hope they can get rid of Monta!!!

The Pacers are definitely another wing, who can shoot/score & defend some, away from making a big move up the standings.

All I need is a Washington-Boston series. If Washington adds another bench player I’ll pick them to go to the ECF, but if not I’d probably go with Boston even though I’m dying for Wall to make a conference finals

Washington should go get Bogdanovic. They really tied themselves up giving away such long-term deals this past summer. It’ll be hard for them to acquire anyone getting big $ because teams are unlikely to want to take those contracts back.

Lou Will in Indy would be nice!

Atlanta has the most means to make a trade of those mid-level teams. Expiring deals on guys who don’t play like Splitter and Scott, that Nets 2nd round pick, which is esentially another late-first. If they’re going for it, they should go get a good backup point guard and another big. Deron Williams and Bogut on that 2nd unit with Hardaway, Dunleavy and Muscala could give them some of the best depth in the conference. Or they could also go in the opposite direction and tear it down by moving Milsap & Thabo.

Middleton will hopefully give Milwaukee enough of a boost to take back the 8 seed. I really want to see a first-round series with them & Cleveland.

Third time Cavs would knock them out ofhte playoffs in round 1 by a sweep.
