SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantHad the opportunity to see UCLA in person recently. WOW I was not impressed….of course Lonzo and Leaf are special players and will have long NBA careers if not HOF careers in lonzos case. But Steve Alfrod is the defintion of nepotism. Watching Bryce Alfrod play in person for the first time was WOW this kid has no business being a starter for UCLA esspecially with Holiday behind him.
After having this impression watching the game live i went ahead and watched the rerun on pac 12 networks. The annoucers had some interesting stats to make Bryce look good stating this is the first year he has shot over 40% from the 3 point line…As if that speaks for him having a good year. NO..Lonzo is just such a basketball savant he is finding him in ways he has never been found before. Of course the dude can shoot the ball. But this had me thinking Lonzo paired with IT could seriously be prolific.

llperezis this the first you have seen of the bruins? I ask becasue bryce is in major slump right now including the last 2 games. If you watched one of those games, i dont blame you for thinking he stinks. he’s a combined 2-13 from the field in those 2 games and is a liability on defense. With that said, he is having a very solid season. He’s averaging 16.2ppg on 47%fg…45%3pt…80%ft and turning it over only 1.1 times per game. It’s true lonzo makes guys look good but you still have to knock down the shots in order for lonzo to get those assists and thats exactly what bryce has been doing. Just a few weeks ago he put up 37 points on colorado on 9-14 3 point shooting while not committing a single turnover, the same colorado squad that just got done beating oregon giving their gaurds fits all game. Nobodies saying bryce is an nba player but he has done plenty in his 4 seasons at ucla to hush anyone saying he’s strictly getting playing time becasue of his dad. Shooters go through slumps and you just happened to attend your first game with him at his worst all season.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI feel like you kinda make my point for me. Anyone can make open shots. Knocking down shots and not committing turnovers lol give me a break. His role is an under sized sg that defends the worst player every game and must make wide open 3’s that I see regular ass niggas make everyday.

llperezhis stats are what they are and their good. He has been good. Not sure what you want from him, to not make open shots? To turn the ball over? You never answered if youve seen them play before?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantNope I’ve never seen ucla play before. I literally watch only PAC 12 basketball. I respect ucla basketball more than most is why I went to that game. If Calipari or coach K is coaching that team..I don’t think Bryce has a role.
