I just reviewed the mock draft on this site, and I am more than a little surprised at hte following:

    1.  Miles Bridges is not a lottery pick in this mock draft?  Bridges has really developed his game throughout the season and he just keeps getting better and better.  His shooting percentage keeps increasing and he is shooting extremely well now from behind the arc.  His defense, his shot selction, his movement off the ball, and his offensive agression have all gotten better as the season wears on.  His skills are finally catching up to his insane athleticism.  Still, his upside is tremendous.  How he is not in the lottery and is ranked behind Dwayne Bacon, Luke Kennard, Justin Patton?  I think that Bridges is more of a prototypical NBA SF than anyone else in this draft.  He should be lottery at the minimum.  If it weren’t for so many outstanding PG prospects in this draft, I would put Bridges top 7 easily.

    2.  I’m still not sold on Dwayne Bacon as a first rounder.  He has not imporved really at all compared to last year.  He has imporved his 3 point percentage to 37% from 25% last year, and I think that is good.  He has learned to pick his shot and not shoot the hard 3s.  But other than that, he has either stayed the same or gotten worse.  His total rebound and offensive reobounding percentages are way worse.  The guy is going to be 22 in August so he is the age of the typical college senior.  How much upside does he really have if he is chronologically a senior and he hasn’t improved over the last year.  What does he do well at an NBA level?  Shooting?  Nope.  Defense? Nope.  Ball handling?  Nope.  Could he make an NBA team?  He might be able to make a team as a career 6th man at best.  He has NBA athleticism, and if he could be a lock-down defender then he could carve out a nice NBA career, but a mid first round draft pick?  Ahead of Miles Bridges, Svi, and Tyler Lydon?

    3.  Jaron Blossomgame a first rounder?  Really?  Dude is 23 years old.  No more upside.  Is he good enough to make an NBA team?  Sure.  He’s an all-around good player and a good defender, but he is not an elite shooter.  He turns the ball over a lot as well whcih you wouldn’t expect from a 4 year guy.  There is ZERO upside to this pick and therefore he must be int he 2nd round at best.  First round is for upside and talent.  The second round is for everyone else.  Blossomgame is a 2nd rounder.

    4.  Markelle Fultz the number one pick???  Well, yeah I agree completely with that one.  Fultz is a future NBA superstar.  Does it all, improves daily, and has elite athleticism.  If he stays healthy, he will be a future hall of famer.

    1. This site has a weird understanding of ranking prospects. Bridges case is something similar to Oladipo, when everyone had Oladipo in the top 10 and Draft.net still had him in the second round… This site really reluctant to admit when they undervalueing a prospect. Bridges is a lottery talent and ranking him behind Kennard is laughable. As the draft approaches he’ll move up.
    2. I’m also not superhigh on Bacon, but bench scoring will be his calling card, and he improved his shot selection and accuracy from last year and has the body and athleticism coveted in the League.
    3. Good point. He’s also really strugling this year shooting from the perimeter, he has NBA potential, but given his age and this year’s production he’ll be likely a second-rounder. Though good teams picking in late first rounder are mostly looking for right away contributors and role players rather drafting for potential.
    4. Yes, he’s

There are some more "surprises" in the mockdraft just like still having Tyler Roberson…

When I see Roberson on the Mock I’m always like what is this guy still doing here? I kinda feel the same about Hicks, he should at least be dropped down like 15 spots.

My account has been playing up the last week or so.

I was going to say the first 5 of the 6 players were all PG. That will change, there is no way the first 5 of 6 players taken will all be PG – basically comes down to team need.

I was so happy when we could edit our own mocks. The first thing I did was to drop Bacon, Ferguson and Svi down the order.

I also believe Malik Monk can play, not sure why he is rated 8 or 9 – I think he will go higher, like Murray did about this time last year.

Jarrett Allen @ 17. He looks pretty good, if he can keep playing well should go higher than that

Monk is a hard prospect to rank. I have watched every Kentucky game this year and I’m still not completely sold on him.  He’s super talented and athletic, but he still plays like a high school kid. His shot selection is poor, but he’s so good at elevating and making bad shots that it usually doesn’t matter.  He’s not that strong of a ball handler or finisher at the rim, but he continues to put up big numbers, especially when Kentucky needs them. He definitely belongs in the lottery based off his talent, athleticism, and production, but I still want to see him do more.  Calipari yells at him every game for settling for so many jumpshots, but he makes enough to get away with. I want to see him attack more.  He also plays pretty solid defense and has good vision, but I just want to see him do more. It’s hard for 6’3 shooting guards to make it in the league as starters unless they have a complete game.  Jamal Murray was a true combo guard and a bit bigger, so he was a bit easier to project. At this point, Monk is an undersized two guard so he needs to go to team that allows him to be himself and not try to force him to be a PG.

If he goes to the Sixers in the lottery, I think it’d be perfect for him, because there would be no pressure on him to be the PG and run the team. He could just concentrate on scoring while defending the opposing team’s PG

I am very high on Bridges. I wouldn’t be stunned to see him enter the top 10 by the end of the season. I would prefer him over Tatum right now because he is a much better athelte and a better 3 point shooter. He started the season 1-11 from 3 but since then has shot 46% from beyond the arc.

Somebody is going to fall in love with his potential.

bridges has made some immense strides this season, i just dont think a lot of people have seen him, perhaps because of the injury. i think he’s a top 10 player in this class, but i’m not sure if he will go. if he waits until next year and has a stellar season he could be top 3.

on a side note.. Nick Ward is probably one of the most suprising players ive ever seen at the college level. this kid has completely transformed his body and is developing his game at an incredible rate. if all of them stay along with winston they will be a dominant force next year.. but who knows if that will happen.

I agree that Blossomgame is too high on the site mock, I hope that he does find his way onto a team but he will be pushing 24 when he is hopefully drafted. Guys going onto 2nd contracts could be younger than him.

He does play good defence and could create a niche as a role player from the bench but would a contender waste a first rounder on him I wonder especially if younger guys with upside are still on the draft board.

There are a number of teams in the early 2nd round who may well look at him, Miami, Boston, Minny at 37 to 39 could be where he finds his natural draft position.

I could be wrong but he sort of reminds me of Tobias Harris..

Both have range,ok defense and some reasonable athleticism…

If he doesn’t have any attitude issues or major injury history(the reason he may be low in some peoples opinions)

I could see him going first round easily-anywhere from 8-22(where tobias went in his draft year)

The Sf class is currently this Taytum,Jackson,Bridges and Issac all who could make the first round  barring a major injury..

So much for Bridges being a 2 or 3 year prospect like most people were saying. I got ripped for saying he was a one and done lottery pick. Seems like a more athletic Danny Granger, alot more athletic. Really though who wouldnt want this kid on thier team? Right up there with Tatum at this point
