OhCanada-ParticipantThey have done a great job hyping up this game. They brought that Vegas "lets get ready to rumble" guy in and the building is just buzzing. Great electric atmosphere and if anyone cares about keeping ttack SEC is beating BIG12 5-4 and could win I think Kentucky and Auburn can win.

OhCanada-ParticipantMy mistake SEC is winning 4-3*

OhCanada-ParticipantAll you gotta do is teach this Jackson kid how to shoot and youve got a potential top 10 player in this league. Very smart player and a great competitor. He has hit a few respectable jumpshots in this game albeit with a slow release and a bit of a hitch on the form.

McDunkinI don’t know why you’re getting negged Matt Bonner.
I agree with your opinion on Jackson. If he can improve his shot even just a little I would take him over Tatum right now

Robb_CParticipantJosh Jackson is the goods.. He’ll develop a better shot. He reminds me so much of Clyde Drexler. Same approach and feel for the game..

theballerwayParticipanteven think its close between Jackson and Tatum. Tatums taller but thats about it imo as far as advatages. Id try Isaac before Tatum yet alone Jackson.

SubZeroParticipantAs a Kentucky fan, this team looks like the best team we’ve had that can’t win big games. The only reason we didn’t blow it against UNC was because Monk went nuclear, otherwise we probably lose by double digits. It feels like this team plays with no heart and just has a collective low basketball IQ (i.e all the horrible turnovers and everytime Bam and Wenyen leave their man to block a shot that’s out of their reach, giving up a wide open putback). I take back all my statements earlier in the year about Briscoe possibly being Avery Bradley; it seems like he’s only gotten worse as the year’s gone on. Not even gonna talk about some of the calls that were made in the last 3 minutes but if a couple terrible calls don’t get called, the game might’ve been different. But hey, it’s hard to complain about calls when you know you probably would’ve just turned the ball over or missed the free throws
I’ve been high on Josh Jackson since high school and he just keeps proving himself. I’m not really sure why he didn’t get the ball more but he really showed the full package tonight. For everyone saying he can’t shoot so he’s not a #1 pick are people that I wouldn’t want running my team because he has Star written all over him. Plus, he’s not as bad a shooter as everyone thinks. Only guy I’d think about taking before him is Fultz

Big_C_KUParticipant20 and 10 with a couple beautiful assists. Statement game for Jackson tonight. It is scary what he can become if the jump shot even becomes respectable. He can do everything else at a high level.

holefillers1ParticipantHe played 40minutes at Power Forward in a college game, got you 2 offensive rebounds. Still don’t see anything special, just solid play from a solid player. I need to see him gaurd more wings, not out quick bigs in the paint. Jackson will make his money being a lockdown perimeter defender. I just never see him guarding anyone on the perimeter.

Robb_CParticipantAre you trying to troll or being serious? Its hard to tell after you compared Josh Jackson to Andre Iguodala in prior post.. Sorry Bud, Hes better than your amateur evaluation claims

holefillers1ParticipantI like the iggy comp. And I’m not trolling. Just sharing what I see. He plays out of position on defense and isnt aggressive on offense. That stems from his shot. Ive also posted JJ should model his game after Jimmy Butler. I think if he falls somewhere in between those two you would take that…Rob?

Robb_CParticipantIggy was pretty rough around the edges coming into the league as far as basketball IQ and wasn’t the creator that Josh Jackson will be.. I think Josh mental intangibles are at a high level which seperates him from Jimmy Butler..

IlladelphParticipantWhile I was watching the UK-KU game last night, I was struck by the notion that Kansas looked like the much better team even when they were down by 10. Their defense was excellent, and their offense was fluid and always in motion. Kentucky really just looked like a bunch of guys doing their own things.
Kentucky should have won this game by 15 points. Some thoughts: Fox turned the ball over a shocking number of times. Kentucky had 17 turnovers but could have had 25-30 if some of the deflections that Kansas forced had turned in to turnovers. Monk disappeared after the first half, and resorted to hero ball late in the game taking low percentage fadeawys, and off-balance threes. Briscoe was a non-factor and was playing out of control. Bam missed a ton of free throws which he normally would make. The only bright spot on the Kentucky side was Derek Willis who kept Kentucky from getting blown out by hitting a lot of three balls.
Kansas on the other hand played like a veteran team. The defense was smothering. The perimeter defense was very good. Overall thedefense was just consistent for the full 40 minutes. This is a very disciplined team defensively. You could tell that Kansas keyed on Fox and Bam throughout the game and it always seemed that 2-3 guys were in the post helping and covering the weak side. Offensively, the team stayed composed even when they hit a cold streak late in the first half and went down 12 points. They never panicked, and just kept taking good shots, and made the right passes. Very smooth looking offense even when the shots were not falling. Jackson, Mason, Graham, Lucas, all played really well together. Kansas is my number one team after watching them play so confidently, and disciplined, in an easy looking win over a #4 ranked UK team at Rupp. Very impressed.

r377ParticipantJosh Jackson is a good defender. I don’t mind the Iggy comparison as I don’t think he will be the alpha dog 25-30ppg scorer. Maybe Gerald Wallace or a more offensively skilled MKG.
Jayson Tatum reminds me a bit of Caron Butler.
