Let’s start this out by saying Dennis Smith Jr. is the best Point Guard in the 2017 draft! Now let me explain. Markelle Fultz is not a pure point, but he should play more off the ball. Yes, Fultz does average over 6 assists, but when I watched film, over half of his passes are about 6-inches off. In high school he played off-ball, and most of the top teams need a combo guard, so it is a better fit. Lonzo Ball is another candidate for the award of best Point Guard, except he doesn’t attack the lane often. This is literally the only thing that separates him from Dennis Smith Jr.. Ball shoots well, despite a weird form, and has crazy passing skills. However, I believe the UCLA system increases his stats. Based on film and stats, Dennis Smith Jr. looks like Damian Lillard or pre-injury Derrick Rose. Given his level of play, and go-to scoring, Smith Jr. should have the easiest transition to the NBA and the best Point Guard in the draft.

after watching him against duke, I hope the rest of the league doesn’t read your post and get hip too because I officially want my sixers to take him and hope he slips because it’s looking like we will fall to 4 in the draft.

he was killing duke and making it look easy! What convinced me was how smoothly and confidently he shot the ball. His form is actually pretty decent. Also believe he could fit well with Simmons because of Brett browns system and the fact that he can shoot and slash which will lead to easy buckets for embeast!

it’s just like I cant stop raving about this dude….he has Kyle Lowry’s game with derrick rose’s athleticism!!! I was sold that fultz was one, but what I saw from him against duke few players can ever do and he was doing it with ease. My only fear is an injury with this dude. He can be our AI with a team, and a team game LOL

He’s too ball dominant to be on the same team as Simmons. Also he was on fire that game against Duke shooting contested 3 pointers, let’s not forget he was 1/10 from three the previous two games. Anyways I don’t think the Sixers will be bad enough to get a top 3 pick but the Lakers will be bad enough to keep their pick. Any of the three point guards could go #1 it just depends on the team’s needs.

Fultz = high floor, combo guard, all around game, safe pick

Ball = best shooter, great off ball, ideal on a team with a lot of spacing, ball movement, and other playmakers

Smith = high ceiling, floor general, will be elite in the pick and roll

I would still take Fultz first no matter what because he doesn’t have as many weaknesses as Smith has and there isn’t that much of a difference in their potentials even if Smith has the higher ceiling.

you gotta actually watch the sixers play to understand why that’s a false statement….

I have concluded that Dennis Smith Jr. will be taken No. 1 overall, regardless of which franchise gets the pick.
