OhCanada-ParticipantThe Clippers are better as Pauls usage increases plain and simple. When the ball is in his hands you get consistent team basketball and a better flow to the offense. Alot of Griffins game is forced and at times it can get shut down and he can be taken out of the game. His ball handling and athletisism is great but he hasnt really become adept at moving without the ball and becoming a threat off of screens when teams clog up the cutting lanes and trap his faceup/midrange game.
Everytime Griffin gets injured this team goes on a massive winning streak. As I post this they are winning by 17 at halftime which would be thier 7th win in a row without Griffin. Im just saying if you have just as good of arecord without Blake in the lineup yet he still has superstar value and you dont win with him in the ayoffs doesnt it make sense to move in another.direction. Marketing aside of course…
Just listened to Charles Barkley say the Clippers should break it up because thier window will be closing. Ernie asked him would you keep Griffin or Paul and Barkley said Blake because he is younger and going forward Paul wont be able to keep up with more explosive and dynamic gaurds. Now Chuck isnt really an idiot I wont go as far as saying that, I just think sometimes they make him work and he just says stuff to fulfill his oblifation as an analyst. He probally doesnt remember half the stuff he says.

OhCanada-ParticipantBut then Paul gets a thumb injury…out for the game likely sprained possibly broken. How dissapointing.

MatosParticipantClips need a stretch 4 and scoring wing. I’ve always said that they were 1 Rudy Gay away from contending.
Melo’s unhappy…What would it take on both sides to pull off a Melo for Blake trade?

xJumpManxParticipantBlake is younger and a better player as well as a bigger personality. Just my take you put Blake in NY he would just thrive.

MatosParticipantAgreed. I’m saying how much more would NY need to give. Future 1st rounders + This year’s 1st? Any young players get thrown into the deal. From Clippers standpoint, they get better by landing Melo so do they give Griffin away for much less than his value?

binetParticipantGriffin is more to the Clippers franchise than just is BBall level. He is the player than turned them into attractive, caused bn$ sell of the franchise and everything. They were the team that cannot win and would never and he changed that. He is the one that made CP3 agree on going there.
He gets injured too much and it’s costing them because they cannot afford not to have him in the playoff. Last season collapse when both Paul and him went injured showed that the injury concern maybe is too big.
Melo is not going to make them better. If you think so, you are not watching NY basketball. Melo is such a liability on D. And he takes mostly midrange inefficient jumpers. At .53 TS% he is just average as a scorer despite volume. He still looks good/hard to guard but he clearly is not winning you games.
