We have a few different NBA Comp posts for the top freshmen but nothing for the old heads.  I wanted to mention a few and see if we can work this into a nice list.

Peter Jok-  I read his story last year about how he played two years of HS ball with a torn Patellar tendon.  Now this kid seems to be fully recovered and has increased his production each year at Iowa.  Super sweet stroke.  Nice size for a SG.  If he had a better handle he would remind me of Jrue Holiday but I believe he can thrive in the league in the form of an Allen Crabbe type two gaurd.  I will be routing for this kid regardless.  All his scholarships dried up except for Iowa.  He stayed true to the course and turned himself into a pretty damn good basketball player.

EC Matthews- Matthews tore his ACL last year and missed the year.  I had high hopes for him before the injury. Actually like him a little more than Dunn before Kris had his breakout season.  He is back to doing all the things that make a great combo gaurd.  He is a lefty mixing nice athleticism with some good attack moves like the euro step and even a fade away.  I think he sneaks into the first round and becomes a nice sixth man in the NBA.  Lou Williams has been doing something like this for years.

Josh Hart- I’m a Villanova fan by proximity even though I route harder for Temple.  So I hope to give an honest assessment.  His game right now is borderline NBA. He plays hard and finds himself in good spots. That is a testament to his IQ.  His athletic ability is what locks him into that undersized SF role.  He can get up but he isnt explosive with the quickness.  He is another guy I will route for because of his increased production each year.  I really have no good comp for him.  I would say either Lance Stevenson or maybe Evan Turner.  But if he gets stuck without a position because he cant gaurd anyone he won’t be in the league for long.

Tell me what you guys think…add a few, correct mine. All is welcome.

I’ve never really been a fan of Frank Mason’s game but he’s been really impressive and crazy clutch this year. He’s playing (at least since the last time I’ve watched them on tv) like he can carry them in March

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve noticed an amazing improvement in Justin Jackson’s game this year. The knocks on him in the past were that he was soft and couldn’t shoot. He seems to have significantly improved in both those areas. He has an amazing feel for the game and no player in the country moves better without the ball. Remember, that this guy was at one time considered a potential lottery when he committed to UNC. Im not sure he can’t still be one if he keeps up this level of play throughout the season.

I’m looking at what he can do in the NBA.  Not what he isnt doing at Rhode Island coming off a torn ACL. Thank you for contributing to the list.
