Before the season began I said he would struggle at the college level but after watching him in games against Florida and UNLV I gotta admit I was wrong. He’s gonna be good. He may not be the most athletic player but at 6’9 he is extremely fluid and a good athlete. He is so smooth but the thing that is really captivating is to watch how he reads and dissects opposing defences. He is really a smart player that can score in the iso, high post, low post, off multiple screens, transition, and spot up shots. Jayson also has tons of one on one moves which he can execute with ease which is really the difference between a good college and NBA player.

He really is the total package and seems to be very capable in letting the scoring chances come to him in the flow of the offensive scheme despite being so skilled. He is also a very versatile defensive player that should be able to play SG/SF/PF in the NBA throughout his career. Reminds me of Paul George despite not being as explosive. I don’t see how he avoids being selected in the top half of the lottery.

I hate being wrong and conceding to admit it but I really like Tatums game and see him as a cant miss prospect. I’m not sure what his upside is at this point gotta see him play more. How good will he be?

The way Tatum plays in isolation reminds of of how Harrison Barnes is performing in Dallas this season.

Tatum reminds me of Paul Pierce.  Smooth offense, not overly athletic but still able to score from everywhere.

I’m a UNLV fan, and it’s laughable that you state how good he will be based off a game against us.  The administration gutted the program, and Marvin Menzies had to fill ten scholarships starting in late April after virtually everybody is signed elsewhere.

Can’t believe this site has Isaac going before Tatum. So stupid.

Tatum is definitely more polished and NBA ready at this point, but Isaac looks like he has a high ceiling. His guard skills and fluid athleticism have impressed me. I think Tatum is better prospect, but won’t call them stupid for looking at Isaac’s upside.

So Tatum is this year’s wing that gets compared to Paul Pierce.

Never seen him play but I remember hearing people before the year worrying about his propensity for catching the ball and holding it too much. The ball tended to stop when he got it. Has that been an issue at all so far with him?

I guess it’s a roundabout way of saying can he play off the ball or is he a pure isolation scorer who needs to monopolize the offense? I assume Coach K can get him to fit in with their structure but he’s also better than just about any coach Tatum is going to get in the NBA when he’s selected in the top 10

Tatum is skilled no doubt.. I think hes one of the safer picks in the draft, his potential is a little over stated but hes talented.. My knock on Tatum is he tends to fade in the background.. He needs to be a little bit more confidence as a player.

Yah I think he’s just getting adjusted and is trying to fit in before huge goes off. He seems to be very cerebral. Playing at Duke is going to hide his weaknesses so he doesn’t have to force the issue but Duke will need him to be aggressive in the tournament.

Rule # 245: Never draft a Florida State player. They always suck.

    Malik Beasley SG 6-5 196 2016
    Bernard James PF 6-10 230 2012
    Chris Singleton FC 6-8 228 2011
    Solomon Alabi C 7-1 250 2010
    Ryan Reid PF 6-8 235 2010
    Toney Douglas G 6-2 195 2009
    Al Thornton F 6-8 203 2007
    Alexander Johnson F 6-9 240 2006
    Von Wafer

There’s your list of FSU drafted players since 1998. Leonard Hamilton doesn’t develop guys into legit NBA players.

That’s why you draft Tatum ahead of Isaac ^

Though I do think Bacon might be a solid player in the league

He reminds me of Danny Granger, who I absolutely loved as a player and like Brandon Roy it is so sad that injuries derailed his career.
