festar35ParticipantI tend to ask this question each year, so figured as the season has got under way what are your guys thoughts?
C. Myles Turner – It helps that he is a Pacer, but I think this kid can be really special and honestly feel is currently being under utilized by Nate McMillan on the offensive end of the floor. Defensively he has amazing instincts as a shot blocker, really hope Indiana starts looking to him as a legit 2nd option.
PF. Kristaps Porzingis – I love this kid! As the league is right now hands down my favorite player. He is just so much fun to watch and some of the things he does at 7’3 are just unreal. His play is really starting ti help the Knicks get some W’s as well.
SF. Paul George – I am tempted to go with Giannis here, but I still hold the hope that the old PG13 returns over the course of December and puts Indiana back into the upper East tier. He is holding onto this spot due to his prior work than anything he has produced this season.
SG. Eric Gordon – The guy appears healthy again and when he was in LA I was a big fan, but injuries really derailed him. I love him in that 6th man and he is one of the front runners to take the award IMO.
PG. Kemba Walker/Damian Lillard – I truly can’t decide, I love both their games and to me both were big snubs last year who deserve the All-Star nod this year if they keep up their current pace. I may slightly prefer Kemba just because he is a little smaller and makes what he is doing a bit more spectacular.

Hype MachineWith so many loveable players, its hard to narrow it down to just 1. So I’ll reel off a list of players who are NOT my favourites.
PG: Delly – Looks like a weasel and is the dirtiest player in the game.
SG: Exum – Softer than a freshly fluffed pillow.
Joe Ingles: Sold me bad hallucinagens once
Aron Baynes: Only thing worse than his game is his top-knot haircut
Andrew Bogut: Hes actually secretly Croatian.
**Insert broken record sound**
Face turn!

festar35ParticipantSo you mean:
PG. Because he is Australian
SG. Because he is Australian
SF. Because he is Australian
PF. Because he is Australian
C. Because he is AustralianI know they constantly give us a hiding when we try qualify for FIBA Champs and Olympics, but a little harsh don’t you think.
Besides give us a few years with, Adams, Wynard, Fotu, Freeman, Timmins and we may surprise.

Andrew1984ParticipantIf you’re only taking players from down under, wouldn’t you rather have Patty Mills than Delly?
Or maybe just leave Delly on the defensive end and Patty on the offensive end, and neither one has to cross half court? That’s still five-on-five, sorta?

Sf:Kawhi Leonard-Just no fuss quality basketball at its finest+ love the guys defense and timmy light emotion lol.
SG:Jimmy Butler- Liked him under thibs at the Sg Jimmy buckets is a quality two way player and seems
PG: Russell Westbrook (Aka Westwolf) I have rated him since 08 when he first came into the league the shear anger/Competitve drive to win has always been awesome to watch..He is there to win nothing more nothing less
6th man: Dion waiters: I liked when he was a 6th man on OKC he became a solid two way player(torwards the end of his time at OKC) that helped us out big time in the Dallas,Spurs and even a little bit of the GSW series..

ZouldiersParticipantC: Hassan Whiteside- Defensive beast who making huge strides offensively and has improved his free throws unlike some dudes( Drummond and DJ comes to mind).
PF: Kristaps Porzingis- How can I not like Porzingod. He’s fun to watch.
SF: Kawhi Leonard- I just like guys who values defense the same way he values offense and the Spurs are doing good because of it.
SG: Dwyane Wade- Wade County will always be my favorite player of all time Heat uniform or not.
PG: Russell Westbrook- Stat stuffer plus highlight plays. nuff said. Never change Westbeast.

jabbar_medvedenkoParticipantW/o including my fellow Croatians or any of the Lakers, I would have to go with
Westbrook – absolutely ferocious player who doesn’t back down from anyone or anything. You have to admire the passion and energy he brings to the table every single time he steps on the court. He plays with tenacity, grit and has that competitive fire, the drive to be the greatest, similar to my all-time favorite Kobe. As loyal as anybody in the league. I love watching him play, probably my favorite player in the league right now.
Giannis – a truly unique player who plays all over the court, there seems to be nothing that Magic Giannison can’t do. Watch out for the young Bucks, they have a very serious core between him, Jabari and Middleton. So much length, athleticism, scoring ability and general versatility with them. If they get a decent center in the draft this year, could be an NBA powerhouse for the next decade and then some.
DeRozan – although I really like Paul George, DeMar DeRozan just never ceases to amaze me. I remember people freaking out over a contract they gave him back in 2012 at around 9 mil. per season, but he always seems to shut down the critics and actually outperform the millions that he gets. I know it wasn’t realistic, but many of the people on Lakers’ twitter preferred Batum over him this summer in FA, which I just can’t understand, for as good a player as Nic is. Incredible work ethic, gets way better each and every year, another player that reminds me of Kobe. With the league going nuts about three point shot, he’s made his living in-between, being a throwback proficient mid-range killer with a knack for drawing fouls. Love him.
Porzingis – this was actually a tie between Zinger and Dirk, but I decided to go the young man’s route. I think he’s destined for a HOF career, from the second he stepped on an NBA court. You just see the type of swagger about him, the way he responds to the pressure of New York City, he’s different than others. I see him as an underdog who had kids crying on the draft night, but he went on to surprise everybody and have that Linsanity-type of breakout. Really happy for both him and the GOAT Phil Jackson. The Knicks fans deserve a bit of light with him and Melo after all those years of Eddy Currys and Stephon Marburys.
Embiid – as much as I like Boogie Cousins, Embiid was a no-brainer at the C spot. I’m really glad Brown has upped his minutes, the sky’s the limit for the big fella, really showing flashes of being the next great C like Shaq, Hakeem, Kareem or Wilt, only with a touch of new era with that perimeter game. Hopefully he’s healthy enough so that we’re not deprived of greatness. I really believe the years of futility have paid off for the Sixers and I can’t be happier for their fans now that they have ‘The Process’ himself’ to go with a born winner in Saric and another potential superstar in Simmons. They have trade chips in Noel and Okafor and should do well with that high pick next year and a bunch of promising point men for the taking. And he has that happy-go-lucky game on twitter, the guy is just born to be a superstar.
Honorable mentions: Steven Adams, Dame Lillard, Kemba, Jimmy Buckets, Anthony Davis, Harry B
Of other players who might not be superstar caliber, I really like Ricky Rubio and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. If they had a jumper, I believe they would be among the best players in the league. Both have had their fair share of injuries and you have to wonder how good they would actually be without those setbacks. Both very good defenders with good work ethic, consummate professionals playing with poise, still very young and with plenty of time to further improve.

KingslayerParticipantPG: Kyle Lowry – even when Demar is dropping 30+, Lowry is still the Raps’ MVP. Impacts the game in many ways every night, and is the heart of the team.
SG: Jimmy Butler – outwork him, i dare you…
SF: Kawhi Leonard – my favourite player if not for the next guy on this list.
PF: Lebron James – can’t help but marvel at his brilliance on the court. He’s been my favourite player since he was 16.
C: Jonas Valanciunas – pure homerism pick as a Raps fan. Realistically either Towns or Davis, but I want to see more consistent play from them on defense.

SubZeroParticipantShoot this is gonna be hard. I always have a hard time picking my favorite anythings. With my Kentucky bias: John Wall, Devin Booker, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and KAT/Boogie
Without:
PG – Russell Westbrook. This is my OKC bias, but the passion he plays with is unmatched and after KD left, he basically became a hero for the Thunder whether we win with him or not
SG – CJ McCollum. No one really stands out as my favorite but I love his offensive game. He’s so crafty with the ball and seems to get shots in ways that no one else can
SF – Kawhi Leonard. I’ll always respect and appreciate the Spurs, and Kawhi is the new and future Tim Duncan. I’m a sucker for on ball defense and he’s the best, and it’s been amazing to see how his offense has so completely exceeded everyone’s expectations
PF – Kristaps. Again, no one really stood out to me at this position. But how can anyone not root for Kristaps?
C – Steven Adams. Thunder fan, the way he stepped up last year in the playoffs made his future look much brighter than it already did. The fact that he chose to dunk on Draymond rather than swing at him was one of my favorite moments of all last season
Honorable mentions: Kemba, Dame, DRuss, Giannis, Butler, Oladipo, Hood, Wiggins, Hayward, Jabari, Pau, Nance Jr., Embiid, Turner, Jokic. Meaning…I like way too many players
And just for fun, least favorites: Chris Paul/Pat Beverley, Beal, KD, DRAYMOND, Zaza. Yes, admitted Warriors hater lol

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantPG Steph Curry- the guy is the most exciting player to watch in the league and has basically redefined the game in the past few years. Makes seemingly impossible shots look routine and there is something just so fun about his personality on and off the court that is refreshing to see. While guys like jordan, Kobe, duncan, lebron were great, they didn’t make basketball look nearly as fun as curry does while still dominating.
SG- Jamal Crawford- He’s been one of my favorite players for a while now and the fact that he has basically shown almost no signs of aging in his 17th NBA season is remarkable for someone who relies so much on quickness. His game is just so innovative and he has found a way to make it work in the league. Just a lot of fun to watch.
SF Kevin Durant- It’s almost unfair the skill set this guy has for a player his size. There has never really been anyone quite like him in the history of the game. He might not be on a lot of people’s favorites list right now but I’m just a fan of his game and have been since day one.
PF Lebron James- I know I might be cheating a little here but lebron needs to be on this list. He isn’t a guy you can slot into one positional category anyway, and that’s one of the things I love about his game. Anything a team needs to win on a particular night, lebron can be that player. Probably the most versatile of all time.
C Joel Embiid- I was not sure what to expect from embiid this season and so far I have been absolutely blown away. There is just so much potential there and he is still just scratching the surface. Plus he seems to have such a fun-loving and likeable personality. I just hope he can stay healthy.

Arc12345ParticipantPG: Damian Lillard – I loove the way he plays and his mentality. Excellent driving and shooting ability, while also having good strength. A truly complete guard that can play either spot. Incredible hops, great leader, and clutch as can be. Needs to improve defensively
SG: Klay Thompson – Your perfect 2 guard. Shoots the ball arguably better than anyone. Quick release, doesn’t over dribble, and plays within his abilities. Rarely tries to do too much. Excellent coming off screens. Plays great defense. Not a Warriors fan but you have to love Klay.
SF: Kawhi Leonard – The best two way player in the game IMO. Keeps things simple and can do everything on the court. Great driving ability and has become a good shooter. Great hands.
PF: Anthony Davis – Excellent size and fluidity at his position. Super athletic and tons of intangibles. Can do everything on the court. Can hang with small ball 4’s or traditional 4’s. Probably the best player on my list when in the zone. Needs to stay healthy and get some talent around him.
C: Karl Anthony Towns/Kristaps Porzingis – The future is bright. Everything you want in big men. Can defend the paint, and each has an amazing shooting stroke as well. Porzingis needs to add strength and continue to develop his post game. Each just needs more time and to stay healthy.
Others: Kemba Walker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Boogie Cousins, Brad Beal, Marc Gasol

trelos6ParticipantPG: Point Giannis. Dude is so athletic, having a great season.
SG: Avery Bradley. Work ethic. Improves year to year. My favourite Celtic.
SF: Kevin Durant. Long, athletic, and uber efficient.
PF: Anthony Davis. Beast. Get this guy out of New Orleans.
C: Joel Embiid. He cracks me up. I hope he can be healthy and have a dominant career.Honourable Mentions: Curry, Thompson. When they go off, it’s a joy to watch. Kawhi. Straight up stud. Epitome of Pop’s system.

IndianaBasketballParticipantC: Myles Turner – He has to get stronger, but I really like him. I think his game is perfect for today’s NBA. Great personality and humble. Hard worker. Future voal leader. He’s going to be an All-Star soon.
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo – I’m just impressed with this kid. I’ve been watching MIL games on NBA League Pass because of him.
SF: Paul George – He’s had a slow start due to adjusting and injuries, but I expect him to pick it up now that he’s healthy.
SG: Eric Gordon – He’s been my guy since he was in 5th grade. He’s in a great situation with HOU. I’m happy for him.
G: Stephen Curry – I just really enjoy watching him play. He’s an exciting player and I think he’s a great teammate.
