I have been watching JR Smith play and just couldn’t help but mention how cold this guy is shooting this season,

He is almost shooting sub .300 FG for the season.

And most crazy of all is his last two games. He is 1-22 from the field and 1-17 from 3.

I know JR has almost been a hot and cold player who can be very streaky but this is just insane. All of his looks have been standard JR looks and lots of wide open shots coming from Lebron drives.

He was FA so I wonder if he really worked out much. Im not to worried since the Cavs season does not sart till the playoffs. I think he will be fine by then.

At least he is playing his usual killer defense…

Anybody see what happened tonight? Cavs we’re going back on D and he went over to Jason Terry who was on the Bucks bench and gave him a hug as his man ran under the basket for a wide open shot. Dudes not all there, like when he was in Denver and took the ball out of bounds after a shot just ticked the rim and he thought it went in.

Yes that is what I was referring to in the previous post. I would have posted the video but this site isn’t conducive to videos.

He actually has the talent to be a good defender but his mental makeup doesn’t allow it.

I think you’re beige a little to hard on JR. Cold start to the year,  by playing great defence and had a couple of silly mistakes. However let’s not forget how good he has been for the Cavs in their Champsionship and finals runs and has been a new man since New York. Lue regards him very highly and often calls him the Cavs best perimeter defender (when he wants to be.

This is probably the first signs of JR pre Cavs but as above said I feel like it is early in te season, he had that stand of with his deal and didn’t come into training camp half way through late in the pre season and could still be riding that ‘ship in his mind.

But lets not be to harsh, he has been big time and played some really really great defence and showed a lot of growth when playing for the Cavs, let’s see if this continues into the new year.
