Jr. ROXASParticipantCrazy game so far for Westbeast in both good and bad ways. 45 points 11 rebs 9 assists but thats in 40 shots. It’s crazy how little offense that team has outside of Oladipo. A 50, 10, 10 game for Westbrook is within reach though.
On another note, TJ Warren is going back to his NC State days my goodness!! This guy is a scoring machine especially playing the stretch 4, his been killing the bigs on switches. Congrats to any fantasy owner who snatched him in the lower rounds.

Hype MachineThats killer by Westbrook. If theres a race to the 8th seed between NOP and OKC, Davis or Westbrook might go head to head for the MVP.

Robb_CParticipantWestbrook Is a fuggin stud.. he’s a throwback player through and through.. It’s very refreshing to see a player like him when the league needs it most..

Meditated StatesParticipantPeople who really know Basketball know this guy is not a throwback player. He is me first,I go hard everyday attitude. Who will he play 2nd fiddle to? His team’s will not go far with games he has like this. Yes you fan boys will praise him as Michael Jordan and best PG talk yet his style of play will always hurt a teams championship aspirations. He is a new generation guy to the 10th degree. A jacker. Fun to watch play? Yeah but conducive with winning? No so watch and see.

Robb_CParticipantHe is a me first guy…Kobe and Jordan had the same approach the fact of the matter is I don’t give sh*t how many shots Westbrook takes look at the Assist numbers and look at his steals and Rebounds ..
He creates possessions.. the most valued commodity in basketball but you would already know that since you "really know basketball"
The guy is one of the leaders in play%.. Hes a machine

NJHooper95ParticipantTo question Westbrooks talent would be foolish, guy is a beast. I watched the game and he was often out of control, took a ton of shots while shooting 38pct and yeah he had ten assist but he dominated almost every possession. The thunder as team only had 13 assist and he had ten of them. The suns and sixers are awful and the thunder could have easily lost to both. The thunder are going to have a rough yeah because as good as Westbrook is they can’t rely on night 50 pt efforts to win especially on sub 40pct shooting. He will probably lead the league in scoring and the thunder will probably be a lottery team.

Pro-21ParticipantI think what your missing is that Westbrook has to put up these sorts of numbers and play this way for OKC to have a chance. Westbrook’s team has an average second option and a substandard third option with zero spacing because they have zero shooters. He’s basically doing what LeBron did in the 2015 finals against GSW. It’s not an optimal playings style, but this isn’t an ideal team. Can’t think of many guards that could bring this team to the playoffs. Even Dame has CJ and a few good shooters.

Meditated StatesParticipantWith ball movement. What happens to ball movement with Russ? Ok then. Questioning his talent lol where and who does that? I exactly said his style of play does not win title. Talent has nothing to do with that but nice try at spin loser.

NJHooper95ParticipantI posted my comment for how I felt regarding Westbrook, wasn’t at shot you. Keep it basketball talk.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantWe lost:K.D,Ibaka,Dion,Mitch,Ronnie P, and Don’t currently have Cam Payne
Gained Victor O,Domantas,Ersan and Jeff L
That is alot of change in one offseason..Of course things are going to be bumpy at first but once we figure out peoples roles and how to play with each other that is when the chemistry will happen which is vital for winning.
Russell is essentially going video game mode until we get that sorted which is both good(he could be in MVP race) and bad (He risks injuries) but if it helps elevate his team mates by forcing them to try come with him it may be for the best right now…
As for where we fall in the playoff race hard to say it all depends on how long it takes to get our 2nd, 3rd and maybe 4th consistent double figure scorers sorted…We could be 5-8 seed or as mentioned above one injury away from a high lottery pick..

HitsterParticipantThe Thunder have had a big turnover of talent, they made the Ibaka trade which I think was a nice move for them. Losing KD was huge but they didn’t panic, they extended Westbrook and have a nice young core to support him.
There are some decent scorers on that roster but Westbrook is the man and will have the ball down the stretch. Billy Donovan will not play him stupid minutes as they will want to keep him sound this year.
I can see Westbrook being a top contender to win the scoring title but unless the Thunder are near the top out West I don’t see him being MVP. Remember when Kobe averaged 35.6ppg in 2005/06 and lead the Lakers to the play offs but was only 4th in MVP voting.
