All people have talked about this offseason is how awful the bulls spacing will be this year (myself included). However, wouldn’t a lot of these issues be resolved if wade could develop into at least a respectable 3 point shooter.

I know wade has never really shot a high volume of threes or a high percentage in the past (although for a while he was at least shooting a decent amount before lebron came to Miami). However, I’ve always thought he had pretty good shooting form and his struggles from the 3 point line were more of a confidence thing and the fact that it has never really been a priority more than a mechanical issue. He has definitely made the shot more of a priority so far this season and he is having pretty good results so far shooting it. I don’t think it’s entirely out of the question that he could at least become an average 3 point shooter.

Wade, rondo, and Butler are all smart players that know how to play off the ball and get in position to score even without the threat of a jump shot. At some point though, there is only so much space to cut inside the arc. Butler has shown he can make three’s even though he struggled last season. Rondo is rondo and defenses will probably never really respect his outside shooting ability. However, I feel like Wade’s ability to consistently hit 3s could be the wild card in determining how this experiment could actually work (and prolong his career). He doesn’t have to be kyle korver or anything but if he could just make about 35-38% on 3-4 attempts per game it would at least keep defenses honest and open up the floor.

If Jordan could do it why not Wade?

He’s had 13 years to do it, and he hasn’t.  Why would you expect that to change now?

Very interesting point how a player as great as D-Wade 3 titles, 20,000 career points has only 390 career 3 pointers. For a back court scorer that is very low. Also D-Wade has always been a complete type player not relying on his athleticism to get him to the rim as shown by his loingevity and still being a good scorer at 34 years old.

As he gets older, Wade will have to rely on his basketball IQ more but playing with a top ball handler in Rondo and another good scorer in Butler, they’ll use their ability to create shooting opportunies for each other and D-Wade has always been as good off the ball as he is on it, so can play whatever role he is required.

I don’t see him suddenly becoming a lights out 3 pointer but if he gets openings then he has the ability to make a good number of shots.
