valentineRarely would CBS College Insider Jon Rothstein resort to using a descriptive word such as "palpable", yet the buzz Isaac Humphries is generating in Kentucky is so intense that you can actually taste it.
Yet there’s more….
He is also now predicted to START, thus relegating either Lee or Adebayo to the bench.
It’s hard to say that anyone could have predicted this coming….except for the fact I’ve been telling draftnet that it would for the last 2 years. Only to be met with a chorus of jeers and pessimism that would normally be reserved for an Ashley Simpson concert.
Humphries belongs in the top 8 of the 2017 draft. And the fact that he isn’t on it at all is an utter indictment on this once fine NBA scouting resource!

Bankroll PJParticipantIdk what your sources are but, nothing I have read indicates that Humphries would possibly start OVER Adebayo. I read a practice report which said Humphries could be a starter, but it was implied that scenario would be alongside Adebayo in the frontcourt. All reports have said Humphries looks much slimmer and improved, but they also mention that Adebayo has been a beast. Humphries has an oppurtunity to start at center against some teams, but slow down the hype machine, because he’s no where near a top 10 prospect right now. The fight for the 5th spot in the starting lineup alongside Fox, Monk, Briscoe, and Adebayo will most likely be between Humphries, Willis, and Gabriel, but chill on the top 10 talk.

Hype MachineI dont wanna talk down Adebayo either. Theres no rule that says Kentucky cant have 2 dominant big men.
If Isaac Humphries isnt an obvious 1st rounder after 5 games, I’ll lend you my entire bankroll for the worlds biggest stash of PJs.

Hype MachineYou can listen to a soothing rendition of Adelle -Hello, to ease the pain. Performed by none other than Isaac himself.
My inside sources have compared his footwork in the paint to the way his fingers dance over the ivorys.

ChoppyParticipantHonestly, as an Aussie I don’t even care if he starts. Even if he’s one of those rare Kentucky 4 year players, I don’t care. That’ll mean that he’s been learning under Calipari and honing his skills for 4 years in one of the best college systems in the country. He may come out early and if he does it will be because he has improved to the point he’s a potential first round pick. Let’s not forget, last year was a throw in for him as he was nearly a year younger than everyone else. Even if he becomes a senior, he’ll be like a junior in age.
I think the most important thing for him is skill development as he’s still quite raw. I try not to get hung up on starting vs not starting. I’ll settle for him playing meaningful minutes on a powerhouse like Kentucky.

MatosParticipantTop 8 is a pipe dream of a pipe dream. He’ll be lucky to crack the first round.
