kerrstParticipantIt seems Sacramento is still looking to shake up it’s roster and names like Gay, Koufos and Mclemore have been mentioned as possible candidates as they look to acquire a good PG. With that being said a 3 team trade between the Kings, Bucks and Rockets may make sense (Hou and Mia pegged as teams interested in acquiring Gay).
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zn95h2y
Kings get Monroe, MCW and Sam Dekker.
Bucks get Koufos, Mclemore and Brewer.
Rockets get Gay and a 2017 2nd round pick.
Kings get a PF that can step out and hit the jumper but also act as a facilitator in Monroe, a PG that can backup or eventually start if Collison struggles in Carter-Williams and SF insurance in Dekker after trading Gay.
Bucks get a true center in Koufos (the fact that he is greek can only help Giannis), a shooter with potential in Mclemore and a perimeter defender with lenght in Brewer to add to their already freakishly long perimeter players.
Rockets get Gay to play SF and small ball PF in D’Antoni’s uptempo offense. Getting Gay in the starting lineup with Harden, Ariza, Anderson and Capela may need Harden to shift to PG which actually may work in D’Antoni’s offense.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf DeMarcus Cousins is the answer, then I don’t like the question.
Trade Can’t Run DMC.

BeastMode716Participantthey gotta dump Monroe’s Salary & MCW was a disaster — how many teams did Sam Hinkie fleece for Lottery picks w/ average Talent?
I realize that #1 pick was the Lakers & not the Bucks but whether that pick transfers in 2017 or 2018 it’s gonna be a top 7 pick & I’d much rather have that than MCW.
Gay to Houston is something I guess, but I’m just not a fan of older players who already made their $$$, Basketball is a sport that Brutalizes the Body & it’s just too hard to start over in a new place for many Vets
Sacramento needs to just bite the bullet & do a Full Rebuild the Right way – get as Much as they can for Cousins & move on

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantMonroe-Cousins would be an awkward pairing and it seems like they would get torched defensively by playing them together. Joerger was able to make it work in Memphis with 2 traditional bigs with limited mobility, but I’m not sure they have the surrounding personell to play that way in Sacramento. Its hard to see how MCW would fit into Sacramento’s plans. Overall, I don’t like this trade for the Kings. If they want to unload Gay, I would look more for draft picks or young developing talent, even if it looks like they aren’t getting equal value in return.

Reptilian MonkParticipantKings should trade their assests for picks and do a rebuild from scatch. MAnagement seems to stubborn and wants to make the playoffs now with Boogie

MopgrassParticipantIf they’re going to trade Cousins, they need to ship Gay, Collison, and Aflalo 1st. They can claim Cousins would be part of the rebuild so they don’t lose all of their leverage before actually trading him. My question: why did Aflalo sign with the Kings. Wouldn’t the Rockets (under D’Antonio) have been better for a shooter like him?
