The Australian media are reporting that the Aussies are gifted a great draw because we don’t have to face the USA until the gold medal game. While this is obviously true in some regards, it’s as though because we have performed so well in group games that this will be a formality. I understand we have a much better squad now but this scares me because European teams such as Lithuania have been a real battle to over come in the past. I know the squad itself won’t take the game lightly but am I being pessimistic to think that the Lithuania game is a massive danger game? I actually think if we beat Lithuania the semifinal game will be easier to win. I guess I say this as an Aussie fan that has been heart broken by games we "should" have won that we have lost in the past

Australia maybe a fan favourite and they have played well to back that but at this point every team is a good team and capable of challenging USA.

I am nervous aswell. Previous Olympic games there has been much hype and anticipation of a medal that has eluded the Boomers so far….
I am still not sure if this current team is better than previous Gaze/Heal/Bradtke/Longley teams ? Close call

I am Really enjoying the tough competition. And I am loving that the European influence of Team ball & pass first mindset is really influencing the NBA.
People forget this now but the Super Stars of the great teams of the 80’s like Magic & Bird & even Dr. J & Isaiah were players who always sought to involved their teammates.
I luv the HBO Documentary about Magic & Bird when teammates explain that both men could uttery dominate games & they would only take a Dozen shots.
My hope is that some of the Top NBA players learn from playing against the Foreign players who are No Where even close to them in pure physical talent w/ team oriented play are able to compete against the World’s best on the American team

  never gets old. Watching a fluid motion offense where all 5 players are on the same page is a great thing to watch, I’ll gladly watch these games all day every day, even if the US arn’t playing.
  Yesterday I saw Spain go on a fast break. Mirotic being the great shooter/weak finisher that he is flared to the corner 3. Reyes (still in transition) sets a back screen for Nico and Rubio throws a skip pass (still in transition) for a wide open Nico 3 ball. After the shot went down, I was just like "Damn, that was a great play."

I’m so confident that I’ve already printed 10,000 souvineer t-shirts of Delly wearing his Gold Medal to be sold outside the stadium immediately after they win.

If this was the NBA delly would be suspended by now. I have never seen such a dirty player. Watch the tape. He pulls something dirty every third time down the court. #DirtyDelly
