The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to sign Spanish SF Álex Abrines from F.C. Barcelona.

Supposedly the contract will be for 3 years and 18 million $.

He is turning 23 in August, so he is a young prospect, but experienced at the same time. He has been playing in the ACB (Spanish first division) and Euroleague since he was 18 years old. These last 4 seasons, he has been playing for Europe powerhouse F.C. Barcelona.

His main drawback is that he’s very skinny, however he’s an elite shooter in the league and has pretty good athletic skills.

He’s also been a member of the Spanish national team in preparatory stages (last year unable to make the final roster because of an appendicitis). He has a real shot this summer to be a member of the final team for the Olympics in Rio though.

Here you can see some of his highlights.

Sorry, I forgot some important things.

    – He was selected the 32nd pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by OKC.

    – He is 6’6” 190 lb.

    – His nickname in Spain is "Wolverine" because of his sideburns (LOL, it’s true)

The best yet simplest description of him I’ve seen is Rudy Fernandez with less flash.

Never been high on him, I think he’ll be having hard time against Nba small forwards.

I think Abrines can really help this Thunder team. I think a recurring theme for OKC is not being able to space the floor or having players who shoot it but are below average in almost any other NBA skill (Morrow, Singler). He is definitely thin and will get pushed around, but with his stroke and athleticism I think he can give the Thunder some great minutes.
