This has been the biggest offseason the Celtics have had since the kg and Allen trades and it feels like Danny already has next year in mind. yes we struck out on KD but we signed Al Horford and drafter Jaylen Brown who can guard multiple positions and is hands down the most athletic players on are team. I believe Gordon Hayward will opt out of his deal next year he has a player option. I think Danny can sell him on teaming up with Al Horford and Isiah Thomas. Also playing for his college coach who got him to the nba they both have expressed there love for one another. I know what people will say Theres still no number one option. This is true but Heyward and Horford and a solid 2 and 3 on a championship team. I also think Isiah will move to the bench and become a Jason Terry type. he’s just not big enough to start for a championship squad. Then comes the wild card which is the nets pick if it’s a top 3 pick it could easily be flipped for a number one option without having to trade much else with it and they can keep the nets 2018 pick to build with Smart And Brown ainge looks like he’s building a contender for the next decade.

I’ve been saying all along Isaiah is a 6th man on a true contender. I played competive ball vs Thomas a half of dozen times. He is a chucker. Granted high school level a GREAT chucker but a point guard for a true contender give me a break.  The Celtics are a C+ team that over achieves because they have a great coach. The only chance at a title is if they turn brooklyns pick into a star.

People acting like Horford will put them over the top..yeah right.

If the games were decided by name recognition, I agree.

I like the Knicks move and think it improves them, but we probably shouldn’t make assumptions yet. How will they gel? Can Rose, Noah, and Melo stay healthy? Can Zinger take the next step forward? Who else will step up for them?

I like the Celtics cohesion better right now. They may not have as much star power, but games are won by teams, not individuals. Horford fills in several of the major needs we had. We took a huge step forward with him ASSUMING he can fit into the cohesion of the team.

I think the Jazz are going to take a huge step this year and Hayward will be willing to stay.

Im a Jazz fan and I think Haywards gone.

The Jazz have a lot of other guys that will need to be paid and Haywards not worth the Max to them since they have depth

Hes really not that good. Hes a high usage player who was needed to play a leading role in the offense due to the Jazz’s lack of playmakers.

Plus a lot of guys just dont love Utah and would probably prefer to play in a more dynamic city elsewhere.

I doubt they trade him…he will be an important part of the playoff run and then will leave to do whatever he wants.

I think you under estimate how much Hayward means to Jazz fans. The Jazz will fork over the max just like they matched Clevelands huge offer a couple of years back.

        Naah man….its not like that.

The Jazz lowballed him when they had a chance for an extension at 12m per season. He didnt take it.

That Charlotte offer was not a monster. It was 16m per season, which they matched and it was pretty good value at a time they had no one better to spend the money on.

The Jazz have shown to be anything but generous with Hayward. In my opinion they’ve been quite thrifty and played the situation well.

The relationship between Hayward and the Jazz isnt like you say. They love him, but they love every player thats ever pulled on a Jazz uniform not named Enes Kanter. Hes not the face of the franchise. Just a good player there who is as popular as any of the others. Jazz fans are naively positive. You never hear them criticise anyone on the team…but Haywards definitely not the D-Wade of Utah.

The players the Jazz fans hold in highest regard are Gobert, Hood and Exum. They are the future. Hayward is not getting the max as long as those 3 are healthy. And Hayward is going to get the max somewhere…so he will part ways.

Haywards stats are inflated because he had all the playmaking responsibility. Hes really not that great. Jazz wont give him a monster contract because they really dont need to.

16 mill a year before the cap went up is a lot. I can tell you are not from America. Mormons run Salt Lake City. I know I will get negged for this but it’s just the truth.

Just like there always needs to be a Stark in Winterfell. There always needs to be a white face of the franchise in Utah.

Racism is real in America. Especially in all white Utah.

Lol yeh theyll be on a rabid hunt for another token white guy for sure…I just dont think it will be Hayward.

Somehow Exum and Gobert seems to get White Guy level love there.

Not sure why it is…I always just figured Utah just really doesnt like american, rap music listening, baggy clothes wearing, grape drink guzzling, black guys.

Croissant eating french black guys like Gobert seem to get a free pass.

Rumor has it Utah was very unaccomodating towards Enes Kanters Muslim faith which is why he couldnt wait to get out of there (calling it a dirty city in the process).

I agree I think it could depend on Haywards views, he may not like being the "white guy" in Utah… As we know Mormons are very conservative in their "unique" beliefs.  I’ve seen tweets from Hayward stating he is not a Mormon because so many people ask him or assume he is. Gordon always struck me as a guy who just wanted to do his own thing and keep to himself. If  he’s uncomfortable with the racism,  I can easily see him leaving the Jazz.
