This hadn’t crossed my mind until now, but if Lebron and the Cavs are able to beat this Golden State squad, he has a legitimate argument to be made as the GOAT.

I never thought I’d say that, and I never thought Lebron would have a chance to make up for former mishaps in the NBA finals against Dallas and the Spurs while in Miami (never held the loss in Cleveland against him). However if he does this, wins a ring or even two, against this team…you have to open up the conversation for GOAT. People were ready to open it up just after the title this year.

If I’m Lebron I’m embracing this challenge and going at it full force. He already made history this year. To beat the Warriors again after the historic off season move they made, it would be legendary. Something we’d never seen.

There’s also a ready made excuse if he loses to them. Win win.

this might be the chosen one destiny.. The Warriors defensively will suck IMO, and I still think you live and die by the jumpshot, we saw it this year.. how are all these guys going to find a rythm, theres only 1 bal.. Im not saying Cavs are favorite, but they can certainly win if Love finds his comfort zone again. Cavs will eat them inside that’s for sure..

Bron still owns KD. The issue for them is they need another wing defender to guard KD. Not STOP, just guard.

Bron can do it, but i think part of why they beat GS is when Bron went on Draymond. No more advantage for Draymond (bron slacked off him in game 7).

If the cavs switch all screesn on Curry as thye have 2 years now, JR makes Klay work, Bron renders Draymond useless, and i guess Shump guards KD, they can still beat GS.

Over a seven game series, no way the Cavs can cover/play that kind of defense. Irving is awful on defense. And the Cavs won’t be able to double team any of the Dubs. So you will have Curry, Klay, and KD able to go one on one! Sure you have LeBron and Irving you can score one on one with the Dubs. But no one else!

Watch the NBA Finals again and tell me Kyrie is "awful on defense." He contained the reigning MVP and scoring champ.

yeah all this awful defender b.s. is solely based on his elite offense outshining his avg defense. He is by no means a bad defender. what is hillarious is a GSW fan or anyone else saying Irving sucks on D when he schooled both thompson and Curry the entire Finals making them both look like bad defenders. esp thompson who is a pretty damn good defender.

There is no arguing GSW has more reliable offensive options, but beyond that they are no better, losing Barnes and Boguts defense.

I hope that GSW continues to choke on the bannana fairy float theyve been disassembling since they lost to Irving

Tony Allen may be slipping but they need a defender like PRIME T.A.  Shumpert has the tools but not sure if he has the intensity to raise it to that level….or the IQ.  Sometimes he looks lost to me on D but when he locks on his athleticism is a huge advantage.  You’re right though, the Cavs dont have the best defenders otherwise.  Would kinda be poetic justice if Andre Roberson found his way into a Cavs jersey or even moreso, Iggy.

Lebron is probably in great shape mentally. His team won last year and I assume he believes they would have won the previous year when he may have been playing even better. Unlike the Dalls team that won it all you are bringing everyone back that was playing in the championship game unless Jefferson retires or goes elsewhere. You would probably like more help, but you know you might not get it. On the flip side I think Irving sees a jump in play and if Lue is as adamant about getting Love more involved as he says he is, then Love should be a much more effective player (should also be more relaxed this year with the pressure off). At the end of the day he was the underdog before the Durant signing so nothing really changes. If anything maybe it pushes him to be even better because he may have to be to beat them.
