knew he was gettin traded anyway.   Hill is going to be the stop-gap starter and Paige is going to be a better player than Burke.   not saying that either is going to be in Utah long term but with those guys and Exum, Burke just isnt needed.  he may fit in well with the Wizards.

a 2nd rounder is nothing for a decent backup to me. In the days where Solomon Hill and company cash in big time a nice pickup for the Wiz even if Burke needs to be extended soon…

Know something I/we don’t about the 2021 draft they surely could have gotten more, Or am I overvaluing Burkes. Hes a decent 6/7 man on a gd team and could start for a few of the shit ones too.

Good chance for him to re establish himself as a player though,

Way better move for a back up guard than what has been done otherwise in FA. Doesn’t really boost Washington much but you get a young guard for almost nothing. Solid move.

Wizards also sign Tomas Satoransky 3 years/9 million. Considering the money being thrown around like Garrett Temple 3 years/24 mil to Sacramento this is a great deal for Satoransky who is one of the better guards in Europe and who’s game really translates to the NBA. He can play off ball and should provide a real spark. I also liked their signing of Andrew Nicholson who I mentioned yesterday as a young stretch 4 they should go after

As much as this free agency season must be a dissapointment for Wizarads fans they actually had a pretty productive day today to round out the team. They are really finding guys who will fit Scotty Brooks system and actually have some of the pieces to run the type of up tempo game Randy Whitman tried to implement. Makes you wonder now if they will try to move Gortat despite how masterfully him and Wall run the pick and roll. I still think they should make a play for a guy like Rudy Gay but he roster is rounding out to be good offensively:

    PG: John Wall/Trey Burke
    SG: Bradley Beal/Thomas Satoransky
    SF: Otto Porter/Kelly Oubre
    PF: Markieff Morris/Andrew Nicholson
    C: Marcin Gortat/Ian Mahinimi

They are set at the PG and Center positions. I think at this point to round out the roster they need a 3 point shooter, a husky defending wing, and a playmaking 4. 3 guys I can think of to fit that bill: Troy Daniels, Alonzo Gee, Terrence Jones.

After watching him the last 3 years idk if he’ll make it in the league unless the improves his shot. When your 6 feet tall you either need to be super athletic or be able to shoot, and at this point he has neither of those.

Nice pick up by the Wizards, they have given virtually nothing for a guy who is only 23, still on a rookie deal and has been a double digit scorer in all 3 of his NBA seasons.

I’ll be interested to see how the Wizards use Mahimi and Gortat considering the salary they have committed to Mahimi.

Also surprised no-one has taken a look at Nene yet via FA given his experience and his good character, I’d have thought he’d have been an ideal 3rd or 4th big for a contender.

I’m surprised the Jazz found a taker for Trey Burke. The 2021 pick is fine…it doesn’t matter to me whether its 2017 or 2021.

Burke had zero value on their roster this season (5th string behind Exum, Hill, Mack, Neto), and maybe 6th string behind Marcus Paige.

That 2021 pick can be used in other ways such as future trades etc. I’ll take it.

Shooting 41% and 34% (4) isn’t great but he just needs to improve his shot selection more.

Maybe he has little man syndrome trying to prove himself in the pros, but he needs to pass more…. averaged nearly 7 assists in college, yet only 2apg last season in the pros.

With the right coach and vets helping improve his shot and shot selection, there is no reason why he cannot get that up to 44-46%
