Per ESPN, Jeff Green has signed with the Magic for 1 year, $15 mil.

What do you all think? On first thought, I don’t see how he fits in the with Magic. He was pretty disappointing in Memphis and LA. Can’t seem to stick anywhere. I guess it never hurts to have frontcourt depth, though.

Personally I like him a lot cause he just has not many holes in his game. He basically is Mo Harkless with a better shot but still lacks something to be more efficient and never was overly good in any statistical category but like I said a pretty complete player and on a 1 year deal a nice fit to round out the roster with a true vet and professional.

Aaron Gordon, and Ibaka might miss a few games and Even and Mario are still young and can learn a lot from a guy like Jeff Green. Great insurance though and always a nice trading chip for teams who want an expiring contract in february for next summer…

Good move to me. Doesn’t really fill a need but is a great insurance if the young guys struggle or are hurt and it’s not like the Magic do need the cap space. Just paid DJ Augustin for backup PG and extendet Fournier.

Oh and also reunited Green with Ibaka while still have cap space next summer to extend Ibaka.

Great the Magic have even less 3 point shooting. One year deal, low risk.

I like the move for Orlando because they had cap space and had to use it and they gave him a 1 yr contract so he should be fighting hard to earn a new contract. With the cap going up next year he should have more than enough motivation to work hard.

I don’t like it for both sidea because he is a bad fit with Gordon and Ibaka already there and all the places he has gone he hasn’t had a defined role. He should choose somewhere he fits, but then again he continues to make over 10-mil a year without putting much strain on his body minutes wise and he continues to recieve more money than his production would warrant so he seems to be making some good decisions for his career.

Nice deal for Jeff, low risk for the Magicx as it’s only for 1 year so good move for both sides.

I feel bad for the Clippers fans who know they dealt a first round pick for a guy that wasn’t with him for half the year and it didn’t even carry them through the first round.

I’m indifferent for this deal for the Magic. Green should provide depth at multiple positions though.

Portland had the same thing with that short rental of Afflalo, pick turned into Malik Beasley.

I like it, one year deal. they must be at the cap floor now.

I like when teams are trying to improve to be PO contenders…

They’re probably lacking a dynamic scoring guard, 6th men ala jamal crawford and a defensive minded back up C.

They should buy the clippers bench, crawford, green, Aldrich.

I dont mind the Magics deals. I dont love them either but i see what they are doing.

I agree with the approach sometimes you have to let some people go and reevaluate.

The players they are adding and have will get a clear idea what their role is and shouldnt feel under threat. Thats a plus. Look at Portland.

NBA players are all talented – if you are making 7 figures in your job, you are doing something right. I think we lose sight sometimes and call half the league scrubs. We seem to forget they are all elite in their field. Confidence and support goes a long way, so if you can pay someone millions, they should be good enough to play real minutes.

These guys all do different things and will have little to no expectations on them. They’re in better shape than a lot of teams.

I’d line them up like this –

Starters: Payton Fournier Hezonja Ibaka Vucevic

Bench: Watson Meeks Green Gordon Dedmon Augustin Zimmerman

And I thought I would finally see Hezonja start, away from the human potential-destroying machine Scott Skiles. I do hope they’d realize Hezonja is the future of their franchise and not let Mr. Incosistent Green stunt his growth.
