SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantOJ Mayo has been dismissed from the NBA for violating their anti drug policy. I wonder what it was..

halfdecayedParticipanthe did serve a 10 games suspension for PEDS back in 2011.. Now suspended for 2 years.. HGH maybe?

dcaseParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if it was a PED. He is recovering from a serious injury (broken ankle) and is a free agent. He probably was trying to maximize his chances at a big contract……now he won’t be getting anything for 2 years.

llperezchris andersen was suspended 2 years for what was considered "hard drugs". I believe a first time offense for things like cocaine or something like that is 2 years. pretty harsh, should be a first time offense requires a shorter suspension and entering a rehab program with more random testing. I think 2 years for a recreational drug while marijuana is practically allowed is a little unbalanced. Of course im just guessing here with oj as i have no idea what it was he was suspended for.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantIt’s got to be tempting to take this stuff………. I know So many men at the local gym who are mailmen, construction workers, Police & Fire, School Teachers, Accountants, Plumbers, Nurses & so on lol
In other words just regular guys – late 30’s 40’s & Up – who went to their Doctor & were put on some form of PED’s like Testosterone Gels or HGH……
And several have told me they feel like "a million bucks" or I hear "feel like I’m in my 20’s again"
The NBA is a Grind on the Body………. these guys must be dealing w/ Chronic injuries constantly & the Money is outrageous…….
This stuff is in Every sport at this point……… How long is O.J. gonna be gone?

jonwangcbParticipantCan’t edit my previous comment, but he’s eligible for reinstatement after 2 years. It’s potentially not forever.

LA12ParticipantLegality is the only reason the ban on PEDs is enforced. Otherwise, it does more good for the NBA than it does bad. All these guys have access to em, so it’s not like there’s an unfair advantage. It makes guys quicker, increases their endurance, makes them stronger, etc. In other words, it makes the product the league is offering more exciting.

HitsterParticipantMayo has been a serious idiot especially as he could have got a nice deal during an very lucrative FA market.
Birdman Anderson was a similar age to Mayo when he was banned and he return to the NBA and was still on a roster last year so Mayo could come back.
