Young traded to Pacers.  Looks like for 20th pick.

The Pacers are making good moves. They get an upgrade at the point guard position in Jeff Teague and added scoring in Thad Young.

Do GMs also consider this draft weak?

Atlanta gives up Jeff Teague for a late lottery pick.

Nets give up Thad Young the 20th pick and future second rounders.

The Nets and Atlanta seem to think the draft isn’t that bad. I understand Atlanta will probably give up their pick, but still, they considered it relatively equal value.

I think that alot of the dealing we see can be a result of the new cap.  Trying to unload what they can to see exactly how the new cap is going to feel.  Both Atlanta and NJ got rid of contracts for almost nothing.

Shed some salary, try to get a steal in the draft, work on free agents.

Also, the Nets wanted in this draft for some reason. My guess is they start a slow rebuild.  They have basically no asstes or winning potiental at this point.

yep and the odds just went way up that those teams like atl and the nets will draft intl stash prospects.

Great moves by Kevin Pritchard and Pacers – George Hill, 20th pick and a 2nd rounder for Jeff Teague and Thad Young.

The Pacers are looking nice right now. If they gel and Myles Turner continues to develop, they’ll be a tough matchup for most teams.

Pacers give up the 20th pick and 4 years of cheap salary for Thad Young and the 3 years $39 million he’s owed. Just seems like a high price to pay.

I know Kevin Durant met up with Paul George in Indianapolis last week, but maybe the reality is no big free-agents are considering the small market Pacers. The Pacers are clearly using their cap space now instead of waiting on free-agency.

Can Young defend? Based on his shooting percentages, he’s not much of a three-point shooter.

Thad Young is a smart player who knows his strengths and sticks to them. High energy player, good defender, solid rebounder, and most importantly a team-first guy. Great trade considering the salary cap is about expolde.

As for KD visiting Indy, I have yet to see one legitimate news source confirm this. If he really had visited Indy, the local news stations would have gone crazy. It’s just an internet rumor that someone started and has now snowballed to the point where people think it’s true.

Okay on the KD rumor. There’s a picture of him at the Indianapolis airport floating around too. Regardless if it’s true or not, I think it’s safe to say KD isn’t signing with the Pacers lol.

Sounds like Young will be a great fit. Now the Pacers just need a center who won’t get pushed around by Valacunias and a big two who can shoot and defend, moving Monta to the bench as a 6th man.

I like this move for the Pacers. Teague and now Young, two solid acquisitions that didn’t cost much, except cap space of course.

Great moves by the Pacers. I’m calling that even with Monta starting, they’re a top 4 team in the East. I want to say 3rd, but I’ll hold out until I see what the Celtics do tonight and where DeRozan goes

I would wait to start ranking teams in the east.  The Knicks could have Dwight.  The Cavs will probably make a move.  The Celtics are sure to do something, like you said. If Bosh is cleared to play the Heat could be nice.

That being said, I like the Pacers to challenge the east.  George should be completly over that leg injry and by the time they get everyone intergrated, this team could be scary.  I wonder if Teague will have to miss time due to his knee injury?

Teague only had a partial tear of his patellar tendon, which didn’t require surgery. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t ready to start the season.

Yeah the East can definitely change over the summer, but I feel pretty comfortable about predicting them being an Eastern contender. I’m not too sure about Bosh, and even with him I think Indiana is better now, and the Knicks could definitely make a splash. If I had to choose right now I’d say Cavs, Raptors (assuming DeRozan stays), Celtics, Pacers, and then Knicks. I just really like Paul George as a player and can’t believe how underrated he’s become, and Myles Turner could make a big jump to be the new full time starter. He can play and I think has All Star potential

If they plan on going fast paced smallball it’s in their best interest to start CJ Miles over Monta. If Monta is included in the starting 5, you’re going to have 3 players who aren’t good 3-point shooters. Not ideal for ball movement.

Someone needs to give Monta the Iggy talk and tell his ass to come off the bench.

i read the nets are high on isaiah whitehead, the combo guard from seton hall…

this draft looks weak now,but by this time next year we’ll be asking why guys like whitehead & sabonis were so underrated?

Thad Young and Miles Turner are a perfect frontcourt duo. With Nate McMillan coaching this team they could very while be a top team in the East next year. Still alot of off season left for teams to improve but I think they have positioned themselves for a matchup against Cleveland or Toronto in the playoffs with this roster. New York is looking intriguing as well.

Indiana experimented with George as a 4, and he didn’t like dealing with bigger 4s. It is a good sign that they are willing to correct it. They turned a pick in a lousy draft into Thaddeus Young who will deal with the bigger 4s and keep up with the smaller ones. Now the search for someone to lean on the centers. Oh geez, I just thought about what Ian Mahinmi might get as a free agent?!?!

     Brooklyn Nets ladies and gentlemens…

They’ll have a bit of cap space to sign crap FA…for more money and less prod than Young.

On the pacers side, they’ll have 30 pts for 20MD, 2 solid 28yo players.

We’ll see what the knicks got from D-Rose for the same kind of money….

Good move by both teams. Pacers making moves!

I dont think that the Nets getting a pick means they think this draft is good. They are just trying to save a sinking ship. This was a good step.

And Atlanta had to trade Teague, hes expiring (i think) and Dennis is the future starter there. They will get a good role player at 12.

I’d like Fournier as a knock-down shooter or if that fails maybe Eric Gordon on the cheap, still can shoot the 3-ball and physically strong and long to play D.

The Pacers with Young on board will be near $70 million on the cap, I’d assume they will want to resign one of Mahimi and Hill at least so that would still give the Pacers some room to add a decent FA or two.
