Who do the Hawks take at 12? NBAdraft.net seems to think Furkan, but I’m not exactly sold. His stock has dropped a lot lately, although it probably wouldn’t be a bad pick. Draftexpress says Sabonis.

So who do you think? I think a wing is definitely the right pick, and I kind of hope Horford stays now. Teague needed to go to let Schroeder blossom.

I’ll go with Sabonis. They have to take the best player available with the 12th pick and in my mock I have them drafting Sabonis plus they can still get a wing at 21.

The are apparently going to use the pick to package with player(s) to create cap space for bringing back Horford and Bazemore.

I think if that is the case it’ll be Splitter’s $8mil and Thabo’s $4mil salaries that they will be moving. They good thing about it is that both of them are just 1 year deals, I do not know who would be interested in these guys for the 12th pick.

In terms of my team I would entertain CJ Miles for 21st and Splitter, it saves ATL $4mil and gives Indiana back-to back picks where there are a few seniors IMO that could be contributors available for them. It means Indiana would be able to let Mahinmi go and still have money to sign a max player.

Whoever it is they won’t be as good as Teague, at least, for a few years.

There’s talk of them packaging 12 and 21 to move up to take Buddy Hield

Who in spots 3-6 would pull that trade though?

ATL is blowing it up so despite rumors of moving the picks, I think they will keep them, and might try to trade up, but won’t.

2 Vets on the last years of their contract and the 12th pick to pick a shooter

IDK what the hell Philly would give Atlanta in a salary dump move, how about the pick swap with Sacramento???

Pretty sure for the Sixers to trade their swap rights with the Kings the they wold have to trade their 1st round pick. That is the Hawks would get the better of the Sixers/Kings pick next year. Can’t just trade the right to swap. I would love to do a deal with the Hawks but I would’ve give up the Sixers first next year.

Maybe our 1st pick in 2018???

Might be worth it to gamble on getting better while the perception is we’ll be bad for a decade ala Minnesota/Sacramento

I want to stay in the draft of 2017 at all cost, after that these assets are vaporware IMO…

the only potential lotto picks brought in have been brown, Chriss, labarrise and Sabines if I remeber correctly. It’s not a blow up as much as creating cap space to resign baze and Horford. The Teague trade is all about seeing what Schro can do. He’s a restricted free agent next year. I want brown personally. As the Hawks may not want to pay baze and that will be the biggest hole.

Jakob Poetl. He’s a way less athletic but more refined Steven Adams. A solid center who can thrive in Atlanta’s system of ball movement and team defense. At the very worst, he’s Michael Doleac

If Poeltl is still on board then I’d say it’s a no brainer to take him. I don’t see that many trade up options for 12th and 21st unless Toronto think they could get a target at 12th they were considering at 9th. Maybe 12th and 21st for 9th possibly including 27th.

If Hawks do blow it up might they put Millsap into play, he’s 31 now and only one year left on his deal until he can opt out, but if he was likely to opt in for 2017/18, he’d have good trade value to a contending team looks to win now given his form over the last few years.

Korver too with his shooting would be of huge interest to a contender especially with his cap friendly salary. If you purely thought of a team needing a shooter, the Bucks jump out and are 10th in the draft. 12th and Korver for 10th?
