Assuming they dont sign Durant, here’s some guys who I think could step in right away and add to the GSW rotation. All of them, I think, could fit the system of position-less basketball, ball movement, unselfishness and the chemistry of the current team.

    -Evan Turner
    -Nik Batum
    -Joakim Noah (if healthy)
    -Chandler Parsons (if healthy)
    -PJ Hairston
    -Luol Deng
    -David West

No way Dirk is leaving Dallas.

I can’t imagine they’ll change their bench much. They’ll bring back Barbosa, Speights, and McAdoo for sure. Avoid Ezeli at all costs and I imagine they’ll match any offer for Barnes.

As bad as Barnes has been playing I think his most attractive trait as a free agent is that he is still very young. He’d be a movable asset 3 years from now.

and all of these guys getting older, I think they have to tweek the bench a little bit. Especially if Barnes leaves.

Noah is actually a pretty good passer for a big, when Bogut went down they really missed his interior passing. I would like it if Noah went there. I would take Chandler Parsons over Harrison Barnes to be honest.

think Chandler is as good defensively as Barnes, and the ability to switch pick and rolls on the beasts of the West (Durant, Kawhi, Blake) makes Barnes slightly better in my mind. But I like both guys and would like to see if they could play together.

He stunk in the latter half of the finals and all of a sudden people are down on Barnes. We’re talking about a very young player who was part of GS’s death lineup for 2 years. Only 24 years old, good size, effective at switching on defense, 38% 3-pt shooter (~55% in the corner). Outside of Durant there are no other free agents who plays the stretch 3-4 as well as Barnes. The problem is that Barnes is not worth the max contract but he (and many other undeserving free agents) will get them because of the cap increase.

Parsons would be a much better fit than Barnes. Parsons is a much better passer and a better shooter. He can initiate the offense if need be, which would make Curry and Thompson that much more dangerous because you’d have very good passing forwards.

Barnes might be a better defender, but he’s not that much better and Thompson, Iggy, Green and Livingston seem to draw the tough matchups more than Barnes anyways so I think they’d be more than capable of filling that gap on the defensive end.

I hadn’t thought about it until about three minutes ago but yeah the Warriors should definitly pursue Chandler Parsons. If the money is even close, I’d much rather have Parsons than Barnes.

Otherwise, they need another competent big man. I know they love that "death lineup" but Verajao/Ezeli killed them in the finals and Bogut’s injury really hurt them. They need another big that can play 15-20 minutes and set picks and board.

I wouldn’t rule out Dwight Howard as well. You see how losing Bogut affected GS’s defense and overall team’s play. Why not get DH who is still a defensive and rebounding upgrade to Bogut. Not to mention how good he would be in pick and rolls to the rim with Curry’s alley oop passing abilities.

GS will be scarred and hurting all summer long and will do whatever they can to bounce back next year. DH will not be their first choice but certainly an upgrade if no one else is signed.

chemistry-wise. Or basketball wise, for that matter. He’s slow running the floor, often injured, often dispassionate about the game. Yes he can block shots and rebound, but I’d never add him to this team if I wanted to come right back and win.

GSW will be looking to add a veteran FA or two. I don’t see Dirk ever leaving Dallas personally. Some of the listed targets like Noah would command a decent salary so to fit him into the salary level would be hard if they want to retain Barnes.

Shaun Livingston has a team option for $5.8 million, I’d figure that GSW may pick up this option as Livingston played decent rotation minutes last season and with the cap raising he might get equal or better via FA.
