J-rueMykelParticipantWith Richard Jefferson’s retirement, and James Jones’s looming free agency/regression/possible retirement, coupled with the unlikelyhood that CLE brings back Delly or Mozgov. I think it would be really wise if they could try and spend some of that championship marketing money on buying a scratch off lotto ticket (2nd round draft pick) or two.
The most plausible partner would be Boston. With 8 picks, 5 2nd rounders, even if they take 3-4 draft and stash guys (which I totally expect), that still leaves 4-5 players they’d be investing an asset in when they already have 12 guys signed to contracts for next season (AND that doesn’t include Free Agents to be Turner, Zeller, and Sullinger). Boston is gonna be active on Draft Day, that much we know. But also owners love $$$$ and they could easily sell one or two of these picks and make some really fast cash.
Say Boston is eyeballing draft and stash guys at 31 and 35, that still leaves 45, 51, and 58. And while this draft is not percieved to be super strong up top, there are an extremely large amount of interesting guys looming in the 2nd round.
Other teams with multiple 2nd rounders who might be interested in selling a 2nd rounder would be:
Utah-42, 52, 60
Den-53. 56
Atl-44, 54
Orl-41. 47
Obviously coming of a championship CLE doesn’t neccessarily have any needs, and while they will have the MLE to lure a quality veteran to come ring chase, they could definetely use some backup PG depth, another shooter, and a goon squad big to eat minutes and deliver hard fouls, and in the 2nd round there are some really interesting prospects.
I know PHX used to sell their 2nd rounders almost every year, I’m pretty sure they even sold a first rounder once, and I know it happens from time to time, but given the multitude of picks owned by Boston and Utah specifically, I think the likelihood of this really high. Buy a couple 2nd rounders, throw those guys into the summer league and see what happens. There’s an old saying, throw enough mud at the wall and eventually some of it is gonna stick.
And besides, what GM wants to sit around watch the other guys draft players and be left out of the action. Some really intriguing prospects are going to slide deep into the 2nd and if I was a CLE fan I’d be thrilled if we were able to move into the draft and grab a young guy.

nill650ParticipantPointer is a defensive animal but less of an offensive threat despite being able to finish really well , he is not a good shooter outside of 15′ but could find his way onto the roster if for some reason Shumpert was moved as they are similar players.
Osman wants to come over next season, but I don’t see him getting much pt on the Cavs next season as he is a defensive liability,kind of the opposite of pointer so I doubt they pull the trigger on either

Delly has value, but you ALWAYS need a backup point guard.
The Grizzlies could really use Delly — especially if Conley walks.
With "Tough" Love showing up in Game 7, might be lower odds that they trade him IF he boards like he did the other night — and finds his shot — then he could be a really good third option for them.
JR Smith is a free agent, and will probably want too much money — but I would pay the guy. A veteran who can hit 3’s, score, and finish with athleticism. Can play either the 2 or the 3.
The Warriors have the famous small ball "death lineup" but I like the Cavs small ball lineup of Kyrie, Jr Smith, LeBron, Love, and Tristan Thompson — and it’s not actually that small, and pretty long.
If I were them I would trade Iman Shumpert.
He is ok, not great. Young, but not REALLY young, nor a guy with a ton of upside.
I would think about trading him (and his $8.5 million contract) and a future first round pick (or two) for some spare parts, and multiple second round picks.
What about Shump, Mo Williams, Sasha Kaun, and a future first round pick to the Grizzlies for Tony Allen, Birdman, and the 57th pick.
The Cavs get rid of Shump’s contract and pick up Tony Allen’s wing defense, rebounding, and veteran toughness. TA can spend several minutes off the bench defending guys like Klay, Steph, Durant, and Russell Westbrook. Birdman reunites with LeBron and gives the Cavs another inside tough guy, rebounder, and shot blocker. He would also help make Mozgov expendable, either in another offseason trade or at the 2017 trade deadline.
Assuming the Cavs resign JR Smith and start him at the 2, the Cavs have a nice, hard-nosed bench mob of Delly, Tony Allen, James Jones, Birdman, and Mozgov. Those guys can’t score. Ok, they REALLY can’t score, unless James Jones gets REALLY hot from 3, but I like their size, toughness, and defense.
At 57, they can get somebody cheap. Preferably an athletic wing who can score. Or, at least keep the other guy from scoring.
The Grizzlies get a younger, energy wing guy in Iman Shumpert, a veteran shooting point guard, Sasha Kaun, and then a future first rounder that may have some pretty good value.
IF the Grizzlies lose Mike Conley then I can see us tearing it down a bit.
To me, Shump is the guy the Cavs should look to move, especially if they can get some decent filler, and enough 2nd rounders (at worst) to make the deal work.
Then if they do that trade, I think Cleveland needs to try and trade the 57th pick (plus cash and a future second rounder) to Denver for 53 and 56.
