sheltwon3ParticipantThe problem with this is the may not be done dealing

fastdanParticipantMcGrady shooting for 58%? Tell me that was a typo…and he hasn’t blocked anywhere near 1.5 a game in almost ten years.

MagikKnickParticipantNo Yao, No-TMac for half the season, No Way
no way the rockets make the playoffs, Yao & T-Mac are there best 2 players and there both gonna have to sit out
By time T-Mac comes back the season will be lost..
I see them drafting in the top 30 - Posted on: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 7:11pm #180584

matt12328ParticipantBut I think Aaron Brooks is better than Conely.

MattissickParticipantI think Brooks is a little better than Conley.

NYK2010ParticipantI think you mean Tmac 38% FG 16 PPG
7 or 8 seed doubtful
They could be the bottom 3-4 teams in the West easily if Griffin hits his stride, Grizzlies are stacked w/bigs now.
Only team they are currently better than are the Kings no surprise there. No Yao, Tmac, Mutumbo if they make no other moves maybe 30-35 wins which is a good thing they need to get into the lottery and replace Yao.

gatorheelsParticipantYeah the Grizzlies are better than the Rockets with Yao & McGrady being injured. No way the Rockets make the playoffs. Conely is a little better than Brooks.

europebasketballif they go in the top 3 in the draft they need to get donatas motiejunas so he can be a center and spread the floor and trade t-mac in the middle of the season because so you know to keep him or trade so in the middle of the season is better for a top draft pick so they get 2 draft picks in the top 10 so they can pick someone like donatas motiejunas and paul george
line-up in 2 years
brooks
george
ariza
motiejunas backup>> scola
aldrich backup>>> dalembertt-mac traded for dalembert
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 6:45am #180693
ckowalskiParticipantNo way tmac is traded for dalembert alone, the salaries aren’t even close. Tmac makes like $23 mil and D-bert only $11 mil. And no more overseas players who spread the floor. Frankly, I’m tired of our 7’6” center shooting a fadeaway jump shot instead of posting up his smaller man. The guy can dunk without even leaving his feet for god’s sake. and no paul george either, at this point I don’t think he’s worth a top ten pick.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 6:49am #180696

gatorheelsParticipantDalembert has some type of trade clause in his contract which adds cash to his salary if he is traded. So Dalemberts contract would actually be around 16million if traded. The 76ers would throw in Willie Green to even out the trade salary wise.

ckowalskiParticipanti would rather have tmac injured making $23 million than pay dalembert $16 million and prob. see the rockets buy out willie green anyways, just my opinion. plus if they are already going to the lottery anyways I would just sit on tmac’s contract and let it expire if they really don’t want him, unless they can add someone that actually makes their team better. Yes Dalembert fills a need but I don’t think he plays up to his contract figure. He still has 2 years left if I’m not mistaken? I think I would rather see them play Hayes at center and rent a big for a year.

gatorheelsParticipantI completely agree ckowalski

Knicksboy34ParticipantT-mac 23 mil contract is the MVP of this year.
Who ever gets it ( because I think you guys will trade it) will be the GM of the year
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 11:00am #180852
ckowalskiParticipantI think with Yao out and Artest gone they might be forced to trade him now. They need a center and some offense in the worst way. Maybe they can trade him to Chicago for Miller and Deng. Not a great option but Deng is coming off an injury too and at least Miller is a big man, albeit not a prototypical center. Clippers is another option, maybe Kaman or Camby and Thornton plus a 1st rounder. It’s going to be a pretty sad year in Houston, but if I were the Rockets I would keep Mcgrady and suffer through the season. Maybe he can give you a boost at the end of the season if he can come back strong. That whole team is tough as nails, they can fight through a season without a superstar. I think they are a lock for a top 5 draft pick but Mcgrady’s contract is worth it’s weight in gold next offseason so if you trade him you damn well better get something great.
