joe2324ParticipantDo you think Blatt is silently enjoying the Cavs possibly losing the series 4-1, considering he at least won 2 games with even less resources?

phila9012Participant4 of the warriors top 5 players are under 29. They all improved this year. Draymond green is a different player than he was last year. Curry hit a ton of threes this year and beat the record by over 100 made threes. The warriors didn’t lose anybody and 4 of their top 5 players improved along with another year in Kerrs system. If they keep this team together they could easily get 3 out of the next 4 championships baring injury, including the championship this year. It is just the wrong time for Lebron, this is probably the best team in the last 10 or 15 years at least. It isn’t like lebron is losing to the 2011 mavericks.

D7H7NParticipantHis Miami teams were better. The problem with this Cavs team is that the only two-way player is LeBron. Delly and Shumpert are your other best perimeter defenders but having them out means you won’t have JR or Irving on the floor.

goodsense3ParticipantWarriors are definetly better than last yr. They broke the record for wins this yr. If 2016 warriors close out monday they can be considered a tossup with 96 bulls as greatest team ever starting this upcoming week. Blatt probaly is still smiling though cause he can legitmally say he won 2 finals gms for cavs w/out kyrie n love. Should impove his nba coaching offers especially if cavs cant even match 2 wins with kyrie n love, and makes it look more like Tyrone Lue dont make a difference.

joe2324Participantthats my whole point, he is smiling. people are throwing too many facts around when i’m just talking about emotions. Yeah, this warrior team is better than last year and probably right up there with the 96 bulls. Still, as a human being, someone who got kind of screwed by the organization and players mid season, I think he is def smiling over this one in private.

BasterdInABasketParticipantI think it’s pretty clear by now blatt wasn’t the problem. Paul pierce said it best before game 4 that warriors have 7 two players and cavs only have one.. There’s only so much any coach can do with the hand that’s been dealt. And who dealt that hand? Management (and that includes Lebron James) . The cavs 2nd through 4th best scorers are poor defenders. Not good when 2016 Richard Jefferson is your second best two play player:
Also didn not understand Lues decision to play all those crunch time minutes in game 4. It’s one thing if you’re running the offense and maybe this is mostly Irving and James fault but when you’re not even working to get frye a nice offensive weapon shots he’s just a liability on d. If it’s just iso ball for your whole offense he might as well had is best defensive unit in. Not to say it would have been different under blatt but it’s clear the inmates are running the asylum in cle and they’re easily over matched in this series.

BasketballGuru24Participanti stated this before the finals started, and i truly believe last years cavs team had a better chance to win thr title then this years team.
…..let me explain
1) yes kyrie and love are your 2nd and 3rd best players, but kyrie and love are defensive liabilities ( even though kyrie hasn’t played too bad). Having delly and shump start gave you a better defensive lineup.
2) but what about offense? yess lebrons better when he has people to pass too, but kyrie is a complete isolation player, and needs to score off the dribble. He also lacks playmaking ability. We’ve seen many times where he would dribble for 20 secs only to hoist a shot with a 2nd left.
3) lebron knew he was all the team had and literally had one of the greatest finals performances for a losing player, there were times i wondered if they should give him the finals mvp award ( never would happen though). He scored at will and made mediocre players look good.
lets be real though this warriors team outmatches the cavs, and won 73 games for a reason. David blatt is definitely somewhere in turkey smiling as he sees them lose.
