The other day, Hype Machine posted that the 76ers should trade the top pick. Hype, you clearly possess a lot of knowledge of the NBA, and you did make several good points about why they shouldn’t take Simmons. I also respect your courage to post such an unpopular idea.

But the 76ers need Simmons. As a suffering Philly fan, it would make me physically ill if after years of losing to get the top pick, to then trade away the chance to take a potential franchise changing player like Simmons. Not that I hate the idea of drafting Jamal Murray, but he’s not the same caliber as Ben Simmons. I honestly believe the 76ers are more likely to blow up the team and rebuild a team to fit around Simmons.

Anyway, I put up with months of people raving about how their team was going to win the draft lottery and take Simmons #1. The Sixers won that pick… Now everyone wants or expects that the 76ers are just going to pass on Simmons or trade the pick altogether. Can we please stop trying to take away their pick? They need it far more than anybody else does.

The SIXERS are gonna Take Simmons there gonna do the due diligence and look at Ingram but there embedded to Simmons they need a guy that sales tickets, jerseys and with him having a shoe deal he is perfect for that franchise and fan base you don’t try to build around 10-72 you draft BPA which is Simmons then you get with Boston and try to work a deal that works in you favor

The Lakers will take Brandon Ingram and be happy they can have kobe mentor him have kobe introduce Brandon to his personal cheif, Walton myst make Brandon  & Randle guard each other in drills and scrimmages Brandon will become more physical and Randle will learn to play against length

Bostons will most likely trade there pick to a Jahlil Okafor they have a strong offensive big to go along with all the defence they’ll make up for this pick with the 16 pick by selecting Timothe Luwawu this pick makes them a very good defensive team with offensive weapons

SIXERS with the 3rd pick from Boston will take Jamal Murray and pair in with Simmons so no Simmons has a running mate and a 3 ball sniper they’re starting to develop a shape to there team they still have work to do but it doesn’t look ugly

Lol I really need to go back to bed.

OP: Dont stress mate, everyones envious that Philly got the pick. With envy comes all kinds of noise. Dont let it get to you…the diehard Philly fans on here are also some of my favs.

Game: Youre really calling me out but I can dig it. You like Ingram…so do I. Hes sliding on my mock but others guys are earning their spot above him.

Damn fellas, Im on here as a fan just having fun and never claimed to be the best scout or most knowledgable. I get that some of my posts are a bit unpopular sometimes but if everyone had the same opinion the forum would be terrible.

Seems like they are deadset on trading away Okafor. It really seems that way. Also seems as if Boston is hyping up every prospect they  ring in (bot Dunn) so it must be on the market. Hield had an amazing workout, Bender has them running back and forth, Murray is breaking workout records and this is all public knowledge for a reason, to let teams know they hold the rights to the bidding war. This would be my 76ers scenerio if they are trading Oak.

Trade Okafor to Boston OR Phoenix for Murray and Valentine. Draft two of these players 24 and 26 (Richardson, Luwawu, Bembry, Levert, McCaw).

    PG-Murray, Smith

    SG-Valentine, Levert, Stauskas

    SF-Simmons, Covington, Bembry

    PF-Saric, Grant, Holmes

    C-Noel, Embiid

That would be a competitive roster from day one and a team with a ton of potential. Theu would obviously be rolling dice on hoping Saric is a man of his word and he comes over, and that Embiid and Levert are healthy but I would definitely be excited right now if I’m a Sixers fan.

Philly fans gotta stop with the negativity. They have one of the brightest futures in the league and the dambed days of tanking will soon be an afterthought when the next 10 years play themselves out.

I agree with this completely, Boston is going out of their way to talk up every prospect they see and the 76ers have been spending time with Jamal Murray.  This one probably makes too much sense to not be true, although I wouldn’t be shocked to see Boston prefer Noel to Okafor.  Noel is a hometown kid who would take their defense to the next level.

Either way, I think one of the 76ers big men gets dealt to Boston for 3 and 16.  Philly then uses 24 and 26 in a deal for future picks or takes a couple international stashes.  No way they draft 5 players with the intention of them being part of their 16-17 roster.

Personally I would go Murray at 3 and Baldwin/Beasley at 16.  Although I guess if Korkmaz is there at 16, you could take him and let one of the 24/26 picks compete for a spot this year.

      Good trade for both teams,
