CLEVELAND — Despite his efforts to convince team officials that he’s well enough to play, Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has been informed that he is not medically cleared to participate in Wednesday’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

One source close to the situation told ESPN that Love is “really frustrated” by the hard-line stance the Cavs are taking to keep him off the floor Wednesday night.

With Love out, the Cavaliers moved LeBron James to the power forward position and inserted Richard Jefferson into the starting lineup.

I feel like Lebron plays best at PF, like he did in Miami

shaking things up to get a win ?

Love had a half way decent game one but was not looking too good at all in game 2 before he came out of the game.

I think a line up change was coming regardless…so in a way this does’nt surprise me.

Isn’t he in the concussion protocol that has nothing to do with Cleveland and their staff anymore?

They might be better with Richard Jefferson starting anyway as he outplayed Love big time in the first two games of the series. Love could have bounced back at home with a good game but I agree LeBron at the 4 is better for Cleveland with the small and versatile lineups GSW plays.

I actually thought love looked good in game 2. He was actually attacking smaller defenders and taking them to the post. He had some nice hockey assists after drawing double teams and even some of his missed shots in low led to baskets for teammates on offensive put backs because he drew attention to himself. Game was competitive before he got hurt and he had the highest +/- of any cav starter at -8 (would have been -5 had they called the foul that took him out which led to 3 points while love was down).

That is your UCLA fandom talking I suppose…he didn’t look that good to me. He had the best +/- because he didn’t play the whole game…not because he played better than LeBron.

I guess when you shoot 2-7 some of your misses might get put back in on the O boards. If that is one of his three biggest attributes you aren’t playing that well to me.

I’m referring to the fact he was posting up and being aggressive and hitting the open man. The cavs were leading after the first period. You can ignore the +/- if you like. Cavs were competitive and in the game while love was out there and minus 30 when he wasn’t.

Trying and playing well are two different things. Everybody knows the Warriors are a team of runs….I believe they still would have made their run in game 2 with or without Love playing. Cleveland looks fine without him in the first half tonight as well…especially defensively.
