MopgrassParticipantThere’s been a lot of debate on here about who’s better. Hield fans might site the better 3 point percentage on a higher volume. Murray fans site that his percentage and volume rose through the year. There’s also some debate over athleticism, versatility, and handles.
But dig this: Jamal Murray just set a workout record for the Celtics. He hit 79 out of 100 3’s. I initial thought it said free-throws and thought "big deal, he’s just solid at free throws." Nope. From 3. That’s super exceptional. I don’t think anyone was guarding him, but that shows serious potential.

markfitz14ParticipantFound it Boston herald article. Pretty impresive. Rozier might be taking a seat if they draft him.

BleedGreen808ParticipantIf the Celtics go with a guard I’d rather have Murray than Hield. So I’m glad he was lighting it up from 3 while working out for them. He even said he was disappointed that he was only hitting 7 of 10 at the start of the shooting drill.

dudo670ParticipantWe already knew he can shoot the ball very well, the question remains can he develop his dribbling, because he has a below average first step for NBA 2 guard standards and will need James Harden like handles to make up for his lack of quickness.

holefillers1ParticipantIt’s annoying that you got negged for that comment. Nik Stauskas did the same thing in his driveway without anyone guarding him. Last I checked you still have to dribble, drive, pass and shoot with a hand in your face. And defend.

dudo670ParticipantIf you don’t stick to the status quo of the draft you get negged. Outside opinions that are against Simmons or Murray or whoever aren’t welcomed. It’s almost like everyone on this board are parents and cousins of these guys and have a vested interest in the player. Not sure why people downvote just because my opinion differs. Yet again, everyone thinks they’re right.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantWhy are you shocked people downvoted "just because your opinion differs"? What do you mean "just"? The whole point of the voting system is to upvote things you agree with and downvote things you don’t, no sh*t you’re gonna get downvoted if you post an unpopular opinion ahahah

ChoppyParticipantPersonally, I don’t neg just because someone posts an unpopular idea. If they explain their point of view logically I will usually +1. I save my negs for posts like "we should trade (insert scrub here) for LeBron". Or arrogant people who think everyone else are idiots.

Andrew1984ParticipantI’ve been mocking Murray to Boston since lottery night. I’m convinced he’s the second-best prospect in the draft, but Lakers have already have youth at his position and Ingram is a better fit.

phila9012ParticipantI think murray has under rated playmaking ability. It was kind of hidden at Kentucky since Ulis who is 5-9 was their other best player and they didn’t really have a good big man. I think that will be like how towns shooting ability was hidden at Kentucky, then he got to the NBA and he was already a great jump shooter. As a Twolves fan, I hope they get him.

SubZeroParticipantLast year Jamal had no one to create for. The games against the US on his Canada team, he showed his playmaking and clutch abilities on probably the biggest stage of his career so far. He definitely has the skills to put the ball on the court and make plays. I’m really hoping Minnesota can snag him, he can be a spot up shooter playing next to Rubio or the playmaker playing next to Lavine

phila9012ParticipantYeah, I think in a few years if Rubio leaves Murray could start with lavine in the backcourt and the twolves would be fine. Then have one of them sub out early to play as the playmaker/scorer for the bench kind of like how lebron does it in cleveland, basically always having one of them on the court.

GrandfiNalley101ParticipantAccording to Chad Ford, it’s a toss up between Murray and Dunn. Dunn is a definite starter with standout defensive ability. Murray can play both guard slots and can really shoot the basketball.

iCalledBankParticipantPeoples comments that he cannot dribble or create is asinine, whats your sample? 3 uk games last season? His one downfall at times is that he tries to do TOO MUCH dribbling/playmaking but as last season progressed he changed his role to fit the team. Part of the reason watching UK last year was to watch him run around off the ball like klay and steph do, catch and release… Every shot that went up you thouoght it was going in… Thats what shocks me when I constantly read these posts about Murray or Dunn or Hield. Im biased in that I watched every game Murray played in last year, but his stroke is pure and hes not afraid to pull up from anywhere. He has that "it" factor and is the clutch guy to go to when you need that momentum hit or the crowd silencer. Not to mention hes 4 years younger than Hield… As a freshman, Hields average at OK was what 7 points a game? On under 30% from three… If he progressed that much from his time as a freshman to senior, what is Murrays ceiling in that same 4 year time span? Has to be astronomically higher is all im saying… The kid has fun playing the game of basketball just like KAT does and whoever drafts him will be getting a steal IMO

Untouchable JParticipantMurray can play point? When? Where? How? Lol
If he can legit play point, i’ll take him over Dunn if im Minny. All this time i thought he was a straight up SG and Dunn was the choice to run PG. Bc Levine is (going to be) that good at SG imo

Untouchable JParticipantAs far as Murray vs Hield as prospects, im takin Murray bc he’s younger. Imagine Murray 3 years from now (a possible NBA all star) playing vs college players. He’d look just as good and better than Hield.
